Walleye Lodge has two major trump cards when it comes to snowmobiling: the first would be the seven major trails in three miles - no need to ride the same trail every day to get to the good snow and trails; the second is this is where the good snow is found. Lake Superior provides the moisture, while the Porky Pine Mountains provide the lift to the moist air and down comes the pretty white snow on our roof. Three rental sled options are within two miles which also helps: Timberline Sports is a half mile west, Bergland Snowmobile is half a mile east, & Gogebic Sports Center is two miles west. If that’s not enough to win you over, how about 19 units that can comfortably sleep up to 120 guests? These units are large, clean and the most reasonable found on the lake. Wireless internet and NFL Sunday Ticket- all your games and teams. From single motel rooms, to bunkhouses, to fireplace apartments, to two bedroom apartments we have a wonderful mixed bag that will meet most needs. We rent all units by the day, week or month whatever your needs are. We are a small mom and pop place, Yooper owned and we live right here on the premises to help if you need us. We cater to snowmobilers, fisherman, family vacationers, hunters, travelers and more. We offer a small, private resort for those looking to getaway up north. Our individual cottages and two private motel rooms with individual docks and lake frontage set us apart from the rest. We can accommodate up to 45 guests at a time and up to 9 in a single cottage. Each unit has free satellite TV and wireless internet. Pets are welcome. |

However, don't forget about the snowmobile season. The Root Cellar is located on trail #13 and is on the east side of Lake Gogebic. We have been voted #1 Pit Stop/Restaurant by SnowGoer Magazine for 12 years. We offer many conveniences such as food, lodging, fuel, oil and a boat ramp just one mile south on East Shore road. Lake Gogebic is full of Walleye, Perch and Northern with many Small Mouth Bass also to be found. The Root Cellar Restaurant has become known as one of the finest in the Western Upper Peninsula. Enjoy a rustic atmosphere with log construction and high ceilings. While dining it is not unusual for guests to view the wildlife wondering around the grounds. You might also get in on the best Prime Rib in the area if you visit on a Monday or Saturday night in the winter months. During the summer months the Prime Rib is only served on Saturday night! Don't miss out! Our Lodging accommodations feature a series of 4 very clean cabins with decks, vaulted ceilings, full kitchens and fireplaces along with a view of Lake Gogebic and the spacious grounds. The largest cabin sleeps 12 people with the others around 6-7 people each. Wireless internet is available. In addition to the cabins, a new Inn is scheduled for completion in December of 2008 and will feature 12 rooms and one luxury suite with a Jacuzzi bath. Any of these can be rented nightly or weekly.
