Located on the west shore of Lake Gogebic, Get Away Bay is an all season resort offering lodging and boat rentals. We cater to snowmobilers, fisherman, family vacationers, hunters, travelers and more. We offer a small, private resort for those looking to getaway up north. Our individual cottages and two private motel rooms with individual docks and lake frontage set us apart from the rest. We can accommodate up to 45 guests at a time and up to 9 in a single cottage. Each unit has free satellite TV and wireless internet. Pets are welcome. |

Whether you're just passing through or looking for a place to stay, you need to check out the Root Cellar Resort and Restaurant on Lake Gogebic! The Root Cellar provides the perfect
weekend getaway for friends, family or couples. If spending a weeks worth of vacation just relaxing, fishing, hiking and sightseeing sounds good, give us a call! However, don't forget about the snowmobile season. The Root Cellar is located on trail #13 and is on the east side of Lake Gogebic. We have been voted #1 Pit Stop/Restaurant by SnowGoer Magazine for 12 years. We offer many conveniences such as food, lodging, fuel, oil and a boat ramp just one mile south on East Shore road. Lake Gogebic is full of Walleye, Perch and Northern with many Small Mouth Bass also to be found. The Root Cellar Restaurant has become known as one of the finest in the Western Upper Peninsula. Enjoy a rustic atmosphere with log construction and high ceilings. While dining it is not unusual for guests to view the wildlife wondering around the grounds. You might also get in on the best Prime Rib in the area if you visit on a Monday or Saturday night in the winter months. During the summer months the Prime Rib is only served on Saturday night! Don't miss out! Our Lodging accommodations feature a series of 4 very clean cabins with decks, vaulted ceilings, full kitchens and fireplaces along with a view of Lake Gogebic and the spacious grounds. The largest cabin sleeps 12 people with the others around 6-7 people each. Wireless internet is available. In addition to the cabins, a new Inn is scheduled for completion in December of 2008 and will feature 12 rooms and one luxury suite with a Jacuzzi bath. Any of these can be rented nightly or weekly. We also have boat and pontoon rentals, an on-site boat ramp and boat lifts, live bait, and a playground area for kids. For Snowmobile enthusiasts, we are located right on trail #1, we sell Michigan trail stickers and provide free trail maps, and we have a large flat parking area a heated repair garage for our customers.
