Is it wrong?!? '57 Chevy Hot Rods understand...

Vintage sled with cush for your tush.

Why settle for "original restored"? 80's suspensions sucked. Get one with 'tude!!

Do you enjoy mixing oil & gas on the trail? not.

Most of the stock parts have been saved, if you really want to go back to the stone age.

The goodies list:
M-10 rear
41"W front, FAST F-8 Fox shox, 8.4" travel
SLP Ultra-Lite skis
Engine by Larry Rugland, Cadott, WI, ~505cc
Stock exhaust system, newer 650 airbox
Oil injection
Newer Polaris clutches
Dipstick style chaincase
12.9 gallon fuel tank
Triple EGT gauges
Water temp gauge
Nosecone radiator

Have you ever heard that sweet Centurion turbine sound?! Yeahhhh Baby!

Price is $1800 for the machine as-pictured, plus I will include stock parts, photo-copied owners manual, new drive belt, & Polaris cover of ~1990 vintage.

Needs nothing: Pull the rope & go in comfort at your next vintage ride!

Bump?

By pma1123 on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 - 01:03 pm: Edit Post

Would this classify as a Resto-Rod?
Very cool project; I like that you kept it mostly stock appearing. Nice work!

Try www.vintagesleds.com, there might be an interested person there!

BTW, cool project.

I'm taking a survey:
What do you think it's worth? I know some will say $0....

By indy_500 on Thursday, February 12, 2009 - 10:34 pm: Edit Post

for my part of the survey, i'd say $2400. depending on how new the new engine is. the m-10 really also i'd say tops it off.

By indy_500 on Thursday, February 12, 2009 - 10:35 pm: Edit Post

you could probably get more if you found the right buyer

By 81indycenturion on Friday, February 13, 2009 - 09:03 am: Edit Post

C'mon - I'd but it if the wife would let me!

By 81indycenturion on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 11:38 am: Edit Post

I appreciate it maddogg. What if the price was lower, or do you just have too many sleds already?

By maddogg on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 - 01:57 pm: Edit Post

I have one sled - 1990 Indy 500 2-up with the crappy suspension so I really appreciate what you've done. My wife just went bacl to school to get her master's so we're a little strapped.

I'm going to run it on Saturday & listen to the "National Anthem of Snowmobiling".

(That's what Supertrax magazine said about Polaris XLT's, & this sounds similar, only crisper & a little higher-pitched.

...and don't forget to mention the newer style master cylinder/handwarmer assembly..I'm sure that wasnt cheap either

By 81indycenturion on Friday, July 24, 2009 - 01:53 pm: Edit Post

Thanks for noticing that, Sleeping Dragon. You're right.
