How long is the trailer with out the V and then with the V added in.

samc-
I plan on getting the trailer out of storage this week and will let you know the measurements.
Steve

According to my (new) Triton brochure the bed is 14'. The overall length is listed as 22.5' which I believe is including the tongue.

By steve_in_il on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 - 09:53 pm: Edit Post

thanks eagle1....I think that samc is trying to figure out how much room there is in the v area...just my guess! But I appreciate your help!

By eagle1 on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 - 10:12 pm: Edit Post

Yeah, the deck is 14' V should be 5'.

By samc on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 08:09 am: Edit Post

steve in il - yes that was what I was trying to figure out. If the bed is 14 plus the V then you could get 3 sleds in it. That is what I'm trying to figure out. Sorry for the confusion.

By steve_in_il on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 08:19 am: Edit Post

No need to be sorry samc. I'll get the measurements and let you know! :-)

By samc on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 08:31 am: Edit Post

I've been looking at a lot of trailers and just am trying to avoid pulling a huge trailer (lenght) if possible.

By eagle1 on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 03:44 pm: Edit Post

I hear lot people say they put 3 in a 19' but thats got to be alot of screwing around to make them fit. Every salesmen I talked to says get 23' and be done with it. But I 'am like you and don't want to be pulling anything bigger than I have to. I'am still undecided

By samc on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 04:02 pm: Edit Post

It would be a little tight but you should be able to get 3 sleds in this trailer loading from the front.

By brajoh on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 07:38 pm: Edit Post

Triton lists the PR147 as a 2 place. I doubt you could get 3 in there at all. I have a 7 X 18 ft.(plus a 5 ft. V, 23 overall) and still have to put one in backwards no matter how we tried to arrange them (this is a pain).

By samc on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 - 08:46 pm: Edit Post

I remember seeing it done last season. Yes, the guy put one in backwards and had it figures out to a science.

We have the same trailer as above and we put 2 renegades and a shorty in all the same way. Pretty easy once you figure it out. Awesome trailer!

By cdsprague on Saturday, October 31, 2009 - 11:32 am: Edit Post

I forgot to ask is the trailer still for sale? A buddy of mine is looking for one like mine?

By steve_in_il on Saturday, October 31, 2009 - 11:54 am: Edit Post

Hi all. Yes, the trailer is still for sale. I just pulled it out of storage this morning.

samc, the bed is 13' 10" to where the V starts and then 4' 6" to the front of the V. Hope this helps you.

Here are some PICS I just took. Now that I have the trailer sitting in my driveway, I can answer any measurement questions or add additional pictures if need be. :-)

I wish I had the cash, nice.

By slimcake on Sunday, November 01, 2009 - 10:39 pm: Edit Post

there is no way you could fit 3 sleds in there. otherwise nice trailer. have you lowered your price yet??

By steve_in_il on Monday, November 02, 2009 - 07:19 am: Edit Post

slimcake,

I have never personally had 3 in there...but as stated above by others, many with this exact trailer evidently have. As for lowering the price, is there an offer on the table from you I didn't read?? I'm not in the habit of negotiating with myself....the trailer, similarly equipped would be approaching $13k new.

By samc on Monday, November 02, 2009 - 08:08 am: Edit Post

Thanks for the photos Steve. I definitely need a 3 place. That does look pretty tight.
Very nice trailer!

By steve_in_il on Monday, November 02, 2009 - 08:51 am: Edit Post

You're welcome samc. I never physically tried to shoehorn 3 in....I always figured if you took off skis on 1 or 2 of the sleds it would likely work. But I can't say for sure. cdsprague (above) seems to have a method and mentions nothing about removing parts....

Thanks for the "nice trailer" compliment. I love the trailer but a series of events has me changing up my toy towing...otherwise, I would be keeping this trailer for years to come. :-)

By cdsprague on Tuesday, November 03, 2009 - 07:33 pm: Edit Post

LOL! Nope you don't have to remove any parts to get all three to fit. Drive the first one in all the way to the back on the left side. Have about 5 inches of the ski tip sticking out the back. Make sure you have the front of the sled all the way to the wall. Leave the rear away from the wall about a foot. Drive the next sled in and put the front on the right side of the right of the trailer. Put the left ski under the right side of the first sled. (Foot board area.) Move the rear of the second sled to the right against the wall. You now can move the second sled up closer to the first sled. Then drive the 3rd sled in behind the first one. Move the rear of the sled over in the nose of the trailer so the door will shut. You will still have plenty of room for bags and stuff in front of the second sled and on the right side of the third sled. All in all it doesn't take to long to put them in. A few minutes longer is all. The short track sled is the last one in. You can put 2 renegades in first.

Thank you Chad!! Hopefully samc and others will see your explanation of how it can be done. The trailer certainly has the (weight) carrying capacity to load three.

By rakins800 on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 - 04:14 pm: Edit Post

bump for a sweet trailer.

By slimcake on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 - 05:05 pm: Edit Post

4200 is what I would offer.

By steve_in_il on Wednesday, November 04, 2009 - 05:11 pm: Edit Post

Thanks for the kind offer slimcake....but that is on the low side of what the trailer dealer offered me as a range, sight unseen, on trade. Plus I would need to add $330 for tax savings too. So for now, it's still for sale.

Thanks for the bump rakins800! :-)

By steve_in_il on Thursday, November 05, 2009 - 06:27 pm: Edit Post

As of today, the trailer is still for sale. I have received offers ranging from $4,000 to $5,200 and turned them all down. I am also listing the trailer for sale on eBay starting tomorrow. Thanks for everyone's interest and I will be sure to post when and if it is sold.
