Got a call from deer camp this morning. Apparently, the Trails End Bar burned to the ground last night. I did find this link from WLUC.

In other news, it appears Mom's Kitchen is going to reopen soon. Somebody bought it and they've been working on it for a while to get in back in action.
I am heading up there today so I'll find out more when I get there.

That sucks. They had been fixing the place up last time we stopped in last winter. Hope they are able to rebuild.Nothing in the story about injuries to anyone. Hope that went well at least.

That does suck. I think I read on this site the gas station in Sidnaw will not be open this winter. Has anyone else heard the same?

so what? there is no need to buy tommys over priced gas anyway, baraga ...25 miles away , bruces crossing ...25 miles , mass.... 35 miles away. iron river.... 45 miles away. amasa.... 45 miles away you can make it round trip from any one of these without a problem. every year people are so worried about it being open

hard to make it from Phelps to Mass with no gas in Sidnaw, Da Flowage, or Kenton that's what. It was not a big deal to pay extra for a few gallons of gas.

Right on weasel. Sidnaw at top of long haul some on unplowed fire roads & I can't make it as far as you suggest pwolfy2003. They are overpriced & less than nice but I need gas at that point. Open not open??

Yes he will be open, an update from fellow sledder who was just up there.
Gas at Michigamme Market now on trail 8 west of #5 to big bay!
No gas at champion. Yes at Watton, M-28 & 141, M-28 and M95 (Koski Corner), Silver Lake, Republic, Sagola, Crystal Falls, Iron River, Watersmeet. Personally did the drive.
Also, forest road washout north of sidnaw is fixed, trail 8 should be back on it through the sturgeon river gorge.

With the Bar gone, now there is no place to go in that area if something happens at Night. Cell phone will not work to Call for Help. If Tommy & Bev ever close, Sidnaw can come off the Map.

The bar is a total loss. Nothing but the back wall still standing and part of the side. I don't know his plans but I can't see it being rebuilt anytime soon.
They are still working on Mom's Kitchen. They weren't open last week but he did have some help wanted signs in the window. Hopefully, it will be open soon.

Hey guys,
I have been buying gas in Watton, There is a local dicth trail that runs to the general store/gas station...I think it's about 8 miles east of sidnaw..keep that in mind if you need gas in that area.
