Do you know where or if one can find historic weather info? I am looking for examples like "when is the first expected snow?" "When is the expected ice out date of a given lake?" etc.

As far as weather info, I do not know of any sites that have it for free anymore. I used to send folks to the NCDC website, but they now charge for their data. I know of other sites like Accuweather than also charge for their historical data. Your best bet might be to try your local NWS forecast offices website to see what they have.

As far as ice out dates, that would have to be gathered from locals in the area, it would not be collected by a government entity like the NWS.
