Hi John, I was reading some of your old journals and came across some references of the "banana belt." I was wondering what exactly this was. Thanks for any info.

It's not a technical term or anything, more like weather slang for an area that does not see as much snow. Many times L'Anse and Baraga are said to be in the banana belt.
