By deuce on Sunday, July 20, 2008 - 10:42 pm: Edit Post

And is it going to be 1 new sled, or 2?

By killerbee on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 12:50 am: Edit Post

i hope a doo ...you wont see the shop like you have in the past

By admin on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 04:45 am: Edit Post

Well, at first I thought that I would not keep it a secret, but now it seems like that might be the best way to go with it.

I can say that it will be two new sleds though.

Stay tuned, as soon as they arrive I will spill the beans!

i will say its prolly gonna be a yammy 4 stroke, like the one he rode this past winter

By deuce on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 10:41 am: Edit Post

Ok, let's have side bets here! Even though I'm a doo guy, my money is on the M-Series!

By handiman on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 11:10 am: Edit Post

That darn John. He sure knows how to add excitement to his website - in July no less!
What a great teaser.

By cuzzinolaf on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 01:09 pm: Edit Post

I think you're right Deuce.

By lakesimcoe on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 01:35 pm: Edit Post

I wonder if both the sleds will be identical or not???

Skylar- You wouldn't let john stray to a doo or a m-series or even the yammi would you???? jk

David

By skylar on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 01:51 pm: Edit Post

LOL, all 4 brands make great sleds, they just need to be able to stand up to the abuse John will give them. Let's just say I've seen him "brush up" against a few trees over the last few years. :-)

By erkoehler on Monday, July 21, 2008 - 11:24 pm: Edit Post

Skylar, you may want to edit that post to "multiple" trees or "numerous" or maybe even "hundreds" :-)

By lakesimcoe on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 12:51 am: Edit Post

skyler- lol

john- will you at least give us the arrival date?

Thanks

David

By admin on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 04:33 am: Edit Post

David-

I was told it could be in as early as September, but nothing was given to me as a definate.

Start the betting...this could be as entertaining as the Larium glacier contest.

By cuzzinolaf on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 11:57 am: Edit Post

I'll bet a tank of gas that at least one of them is an Arctic Cat.

By handiman on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 12:39 pm: Edit Post

Holy cow cuzzinolaf, them's high stakes!!!
Either that or you have insider information.

By cuzzinolaf on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 01:10 pm: Edit Post

HA! A tank of gas for a sled LOL. I am just a firm believer that the M-Series is one of the best sleds for boondocking, off-trail riding, and mountain riding. The 2009 is even better than my 2008. Nothing wrong with buying a tank of gas for ONE person, talkin some smack in the summer, and makin a new buddy out of the deal.

By field_mouse on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 01:16 pm: Edit Post

I'm not sure what brand they will be, but I think one of the machines will be set up for Nora to ride. Meaning one machine will be a hill climbing rocket and the other for aggresive trail!

Or who knows maybe the other machine will be a two up....after all, John has spoken about extending the family!
Sorry John, just wanted to add a little twist!

By united on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 03:39 pm: Edit Post

I bet one machine and doo.

By lakesimcoe on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 11:03 pm: Edit Post

that is sure one heck of a wait, but then again waiting from snowcheck must be worse......

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

the theories continue

By average_joe on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 - 11:07 pm: Edit Post

I think John should approach all the manufacturers and see which one wants to have him ride their sled for the next year. The conditions of the arrangement must allow him to present unbiased reviews (with photos) in his journal entries. If they want him to keep the same sled for over one year, then let the manufacturer roll the dice!

The opportunity of having a product operated in realistic conditions while exposed to many potential consumers is a risk. Will any snowmobile manufacturer accept the challenge? Is their product actually strong enough to survive?

John, Take it to the next level!

It may require a few journal entries by Nora.

I guess a new phazer/Nytro and new Cat

By penaltyvectors on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 - 07:19 pm: Edit Post

I'm guessing an 09 Polaris Assault although cuzzinloaf could be on the right track also.

By skidoodood on Friday, July 25, 2008 - 08:58 am: Edit Post

If there's a snowmobile hall of fame, I think someone should buy John's sled and donate it, considering all he's done for the sport. :-)

By dew69 on Friday, July 25, 2008 - 04:48 pm: Edit Post

John,
Any idea on price? Both sleds sold together/seperate? Or just to early to price?

Thanks Dew

By admin on Saturday, July 26, 2008 - 07:19 am: Edit Post

Dew-

I am thinking on a price of $2000 for the 700 and $4500 for the 8. Would put together a deal for both. Sleds come with all mods + all origional pieces. I will be making a web page for them in the next week or so that will have all of thier info.

From another post in ask John

"For the past two seasons I have worn the Bill Townsen boot from RU Outside. Worked fine, until a ride last year when my boot got soaked while on a different sled. So I will be switching to the Adrenaline from Klim."
