Having spent 7 weeks this summer out in Bootjack, we were amazed at the amount of windy days we had this summer. It did make for nice, bug-free days, and nights, but it got awfully hard on the ears! Can you explain the reason for all the wind this summer?
Thanks!

Simply put, wind is generated by pressure differences, which temperature differences can enhance (lake breeze).
Best I can see, the jetstream has been further south for much of this summer and that has allowed low pressure systems to be more frequent across our neck of the woods. This changing of pressures has led to the stronger and more regular winds.
I too have enjoyed the cooler and breezier summer we have had.
