John, in your journal you state that you have seen 6+ feet of snow so far this winter. I was looking at some different forcast snowdepth charts, and most places are between 6 and 15 inches. I have a trip planned for the 12 of january to the UP and just wondering where the best place is to get accurate snow depth and trail reports?? thanks

As far as snowdepth goes, I have maps on my site that I update daily showing snow depth. I use several data sources that I find to be very reliable, so the maps have decent and reliable data on them.
As for trail reports, you can check the area conditions and info topic on this board, or check the northwoods directory for the club listings and also check the links section for some sites that give trail reports. Just keep in mind that trail conditions are a day to day issue and can even be an hour to hour issue in some places, so trail report info can get stale quickly. That is why I do not try and include that info on my site directly.
