SLED CHICKS NEWBERRY INVASION

What a BLAST!

We left Prior Lake at 12:30 PM CST. We arrived in Newberry at about 10:45 PM CST. We arrived to a very happy group of people partying in the hall! Woody greeted me with an incredible bear hug!! Woody and everyone else helped us bring out stuff up to our room. THANKS!

Let the FUN BEGIN!

With Brad taking the lead for our group we head out to the beautiful snow waiting! Thursday’s ride was INCREDIBLE! We headed to the falls – the trails were SMOOTH and FAST! So much snow everywhere! The edges of trails in some places were taller than my sled!






After lunch at the Falls – we headed back and found a great field to play in!


Doug did some great carvin’, falling over and getting stuck.

Sadly we had to head back, on the way back Brad broke his shaft and had to be towed out of the bush! Coat liners are not only for warmth!!





Turns out – there was more carnage out on the trails! Mr. Ellis killed his kitty!!

We wrapped the day up with dinner at Timber Charlie’s



Friday’s Ride – we trailered up to the park and ride and hit the trails from there! We even tried our hand at some BOODOCKIN’ with all the ducklings following Papa Duck Brad!







We had lunch at Shirley’s Happy Hour in Hulbert, got to see the FAMOUS BISKIT and the DEER! Ohhhhhhhh deer!!

Saturday’s ride was the ride of a LIFE TIME! Brad took his ducklings out on the most incredible ride E V E R!

We made our way to the other side of the falls – Kelly slides down, getting back up was the challenge!

The falls are beautiful!


Time to head out and do some big time BOONDOCKIN’! It was amazing – there are NO WORDS to describe it! Your mind is empty, your thoughts are only on what is in front of you. You are poofing through the deep snow, like floating on clouds!



We found this field with a few bear bait thingy’s in it. NO TRACKS – YET!



We played there for a long time! I’ve got some great video footage, but I don’t know how to post it on You Tube yet. Once I do, I will post the links. So, for now, you just get pictures!

Once back at the hotel, it was PAHTY IN THE HALL all night every night! Going through all the pictures was a blast! I had to only pick a few cuz I was already closing in on over 75 pictures for this journal!

I will start out with a picture of Guy Ellis failing as a garbage man. He DROPPED the garbage off, rather than taking it away! Silly Silly Guy. That’s the door to my room – Guy had no idea I knew what he was doing. I watched him through the peep hole in the door – LAUGHING MY ARSE OFF the whole time. He was sneaking around and giggling like a little kid! TOOOOOOO MUCH FUN!

The 2008 JD Family Reunion with the SLED CHICKS Newberry Invasion came to a close at the Famous Shirley’s Happy Hour with Biskit and Shirley as our wonderful hosts. What a great night! So many pictures, so hard to pick which ones to post! The memories are great. When I think of it, I laugh out loud! What a blast!

Vinnie, Squat and Woody were the SUPERSTARS of the night. AMAZING talent among them!





When you have SUPER STARS, you have fanatic fans!

You should have seen him carving back and forth across the fire road! O M G! AMAZING! If I only had video of that, but he was running in front of me and I could barley drive my sled watching him let alone film him!
