Directions to the Brownstone Hall,
Site of the 2011 JohnDee.com Snowfest Snowmobile Ride-In
....Take M-26 south out of Houghton, follow it past the Walmart and Copper Country Mall. Stay in right hand lane after passing by the mall and approximately one mile past the mall, the right hand lane of M-26 veers off onto Erickson Drive at Dan's Polaris. Follow Erickson Drive into the town of Atlantic Mine, there the road will come to a "Y". Follow the left leg of the Y to stay on Erickson Dr or "Old M-26". After the Y, take the first right onto Huron Street. The Brownstone Hall is a large, square brownstone building and will be about a half a block down Huron St. on your left hand side.
From the South (South Range, Toivoia,
Twin Lakes, etc...):
....Take M-26 north through South Range and around a mile after passing
through South Range, you will come to Erickson Drive on your left hand
side. Note I am talking about the south leg of Erickson Dr, not the north
leg where Dan's Polaris is located. If you miss the south leg of Erickson
Dr and turn in at Dan's Polaris, follow the instructions for coming from
the north listed above. Once on the south leg of Erickson Dr., follow it
approximately 3 blocks north until you come to Huron Street on your left.
Turn left onto Huron Street. The Brownstone Hall is a large, square
brownstone building and will be about a half a block down Huron St. on
your left hand side.
Arriving via Snowmobile from the
North:
.... Take Trail 3 south. A mile or two past the turn off for
Dan's Polaris you will come to a road crossing at Obenhoff Rd. Look for
the sign instructing you to turn left onto Obenhoff Rd to get to the John
Dee Ride-In. Travel approximately 1/4 mile down Obenhoff Rd until you get
to the second right, which will be Huron St. Follow Huron St. down
approximately 4 blocks. The Brownstone Hall is a large, square brownstone
building and will be on your right hand side.
Arriving via Snowmobile from the South:
.... Take Trail 3 north. Around a mile past South Range you will come to a
road crossing at Obenhoff Rd. Look for the sign instructing you to turn
right onto Obenhoff Rd to get to the John Dee Ride-In. Travel
approximately 1/4 mile down Obenhoff Rd until you get to the second right,
which will be Huron St. Follow Huron St. down approximately 4 blocks. The
Brownstone Hall is a large, square brownstone building and will be on your
right hand side.
