Technical Tips for Optimal Viewing of this site:
1) A screen resolution of at least 800x600 with 24 bit color is recommended. To change these settings, consult the documentation of your operating system. 2) Because this site uses frames, to see the
latest versions of the pages, you will need to make sure that your
browser loads the newest version of that page. This
way you will be loading the newest forecast text, graphics and snow
cover pages, as well as the other contents of the site. To tell
your browser to check for the latest version all the time, follow these
instructions: |
|
|
| Click on "OK" and you should be good to go.
To view the latest versions of the pages on the site, hit
"reload" on your browsers navigation bar. If you use Internet Explorer, you are out of luck.... Just kidding! Mr. Gates has you covered. You click on "Tools" from the menu bar and then click on "Internet Options...". From inside the Internet Options window, click on the "General" tab at the very top and then look for the "settings..." button in the Temporary Internet Files section and click on it. From inside the Settings window, underneath the "Check for newer versions of stored pages:" section, make sure that the radio button next to either "Every visit to the page" or "Automatically" is chosen. Your screen should look something like this: |
|
|
| Click on "OK" in the Settings window and
"OK" in the Internet Options window and you will be good to
go.
To view the latest versions of the pages on the site, hit
"refresh" on your browsers navigation bar.
3) Also, because the site uses frames, if you try and use the standard method to create a bookmark for a specific page(s) on the site, you will not come up with a successful result. Your old bookmarks should still work, but for those of you who need to make new ones, I will supply you with links to some of the pages that you may just want to jump to using your "bookmarks" or "favorites". They are: - Forecast Text: http://www.johndee.com/forecast.htm Note: These links will only open up the pages themselves, not the navigational frame and the pages. To see the navigation frame you will need to go back to the main page. I hope that this helps you view and navigate this site with better results. -John
