all sleds can handle mid grade and ultimate gas right? if so what type of improvments would one see by running midgrade or ultimate gas? and are there any other gas stations to stay away from besides kwik trip and fleet farm? thanks

if you dont have any mods on your sled like say a shaved head or pipe you will loose hp buy running 92 the 87 will burn faster.but if you have mods then the 87 will burn faster at the wronge time and you will denotate the higher the comp the more octane you need my drag sled can run on 100 with out NOS when running NOS I need to run 114 octane at $105 per 5 gal and 5 gal will not last a day of racing so any given sat I will burn $210 in fuel 660ft at a time

there is no need to stay away from any gas stations at all every station has the same regulations as the next some with more additives than the other which can be good and bad. there is no need to run higher octane the sled runs just as good on 87. That is all i run in my sled now we used to run with 93 but realized we were just throwing money away it made no difference in performance and made no difference on how smooth the sled runs.

Some sleds will have a different set of parameters programmed into the chip set to allow the sled to change timing, and metered adjustments to milk out a bit more horsepower with high octane gasoline.

You need one like Polaris which has this mod built in. If you have no pre-programed mods and you need to do the mods yourself manually, then you MUST always run on the higher octane gasoline or chance blowing the engine.

Most sleds are made to run best on 87 or 88 octane gasoline, as the manual states.

EFI sleds can adjust on the fly for variations in the fuel from one station to another (older gasoline that has lost some of it's octane rating.)

Unless you plan on racing, I don't think you will notice the difference and few others can either...even though they say they can.•••• is more a mental thing than actual improvement to the get up and go in the sled.

Why would you stay away from the gas at Kwik Trip or Fleet Farm? It all comes out of he same pipe in any given area. All gas must meet minimum specs with the only difference being minor additives mostly for marketing purposes. Run with the octane your engine is designed for otherwise you are burning up money.

my friend had his carbs rebuilt because of bad gas and he filled up at kwik trip 2 times a in a row. and my mom's van had 2 things replaced with her fuel crap and she filled up at fleet farm and both mechanics (car and snowmobile) said to stay away from fleet farm and kwik trip. and if you talk to anybody in my area about gas they say to stay away from fleet farm and kwik trip

het indy are you from BD? Im local and I agree with you 110%! I have had bad exprience with KT gas, splashed out a piston on it. FF gas is just the bottom of the barell gas. Yes they all come out the sasme pipe but not the same time. Someone has to get the bottom Teir. And to FF the cheaper the better. Why do you think they give all those 4 cents off coupons like candy? thats the only way to try to get the cheap people to think their getting a deal.IMO

Use quality Kwik Trip fuel whenever possible.

I think most of not all the Premium gases are "No Ethanol Added" at least the ones I've been filling up with in WI and MN have been the last few years.

I just noticed that on the pump yesterday, seems they must be trying to keep people happy.
Since Kwik Trip seems to be the only place around here I am forced to use their fuel, the one time I did use gas from somewhere else I ended up loading the sled in the back of the truck for a ride home.
(from the home of Kwik Trip, LaCrosse, where every two blocks has a Kwik Trip)
