Cannot remove Fusion front shocks?

I was told it is very easy to remove the shocks so i can have them rebuilt, but thats not correct. The bottom bolts are easy, but when you try to remove the top bolts, on the throttle side you cannot remove the bolt inside the engine compartment duu to the exhaust and a steel holder in the way. How do you remove the bolt?
On the brake side, you have to remove the exhaust and the airbox in order to even get a socket onto the bolt, this seems like a lot of work. So how do you do this, or is there a trick that i need to know about?

No tricks, It is what it is. It is not that much work to remove the exhaust. It is also a good oppertunity to clean up the engine compart ment and paint the exhaust.
