I have a 2009 Adrenaline 800R XP and want to know if there is a stock front spring that I can replace with black. I have yellow for a spring on the shock now and want to put black on. I want to avoid panting since I don't know if the heat in a powder coating process would impact the spring constant. Any suggestions? Thanks

Have you considered shock covers?

We have our springs powder coated all of the time. Has no affect on the spring itself. Most places will do it for $40 or so.

Powdercoating only gets about 400*F. Not too hot when you consider that *most* steels melts at 2,700*F.

I would find a powdercoater...

You can ceramic coat or powder coat them in several options. I had my Jet ski mods all ceramic coated chrome. You could e-mail Chris at ZooFactory Coatings. ( zoofactory@yahoo.com ) they are in Kalamazoo Mi. He ceramic coats Howitzer recoil springs for the military. There are several dark to black colors for ceramic. Powder coating works too, ( carbon )spring steels do not start to temper until 400-800 degrees. The hotter the softer.

I would toss those stock 80# springs and order better springs,I have 125# springs on mine . In fact if you want and decide to go with zoofactory, I will give you my stockers for free, you can have them coated & pay for the shipping 1 way , from his buisness to your house. That's a deal. E-mail my profile if your interested in that.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. You are faster in responding than the dealer!!! Going to look at powder coating options. Thanks again.
