2002 MXZ 500 Fan Speedometer problem

On the back of my speedometer there is two places to hook up the cable MPH and KMH. I want to hook up the MPH. The cable is hooked into the KMH. When I unhooked the cable from the KMH there is an insert there for the cable. On the MPH side there is nothing. Question Is the insert on the KMH side removable to put in the MPH side?

I bet it is recording MPG even though it is plugged into KMH. I do not think the insert is removeable. I have a couple of these laying around and will look at them.

Whatever you do, do not remove this adaptor, it will make your Odometer run in reverse, if your Cable is plugged directly into the Speedometer.
