That should be very good timing. I stay for a week in January on Lake Gogebic, and it's a great place to base out of. Have you been up to that area before? Have a great time!

Often it is - hopefully this season will be the same - however we need some consistent cold weather first in order to freeze everything up good. Otherwise ice stays punky and the groomers have a hard time getting through the soft areas.
It's an excellent place to base out of however.

slimcake,
Don't worry, things will be great by January 10th! What is the name of the place you are staying? I think I've stayed at one of those houses in the past. One is brown and one is blue I believe, just can't remember the name. I've been going to Gogebic 3-5 times a year since 1993 and just love the area! I will be UP there January 16-23rd. Check out my profile picture and let me know if you recognize that trail.

Ya that looks like the trail that heads north? by lake of the clouds??? Man I wish I was riding that trail really gives me the itch!! There is a little shelter area about half way on that trail and we spent prolly 2 hours just taking it all in!! If you can believe it one of my buddies said that he would like to ride somewhere else for a change.... I gotta keep the location of the house secret.... LOL email me if you want!!

Just looked at your picture again and you can see that shelter on the left. I know exactly where you were at!!! Sweet riding. the last time we were at lake of the clouds there was a head on collision between two sleds. It was really something to se the paramedics respond on snowmobile!! No serious injuries though. I am a firefighter/first responder so it was interesting to watch them work!!

Watch out for us Yamaha's. Will be up there the same time. Keep to your side on the right! Were hoping for tons of snow by then also!
