It was an awesome snow year. A couple of the pics are of 2' of fresh powder in the Skyline Ridge area...we busted the trail open and played all day in the deep snow. It was absolutely awesome!

Beautiful Pics!!

A couple of questions:

When you go out to Wyoming, can you take regular trail sleds? Do you need to have a mountain sled?

Is it worth trailering all the way there? Or better to rent when you get there?

THINK SNOW!

SnowDance,

We always take long tracks. A short track would be fine but you would be digging it out a lot. I would also put at least an 1.5" track on it.

Renting is an option, but it's not cheap. I believe they get at least $150 a day, and we are there for 7 days. I only have the one sled, and I buy used, so I don't have a lot of money wrapped up it one. Plus, I like taking my own sled, I am used to it and know how to handle it. There is always and adjusment or two that you would like to make, and if it's rented, well, you can't do it!

Awesome pics!

Being a "flatlander"(Central MN), I don't think I'd have a clue on how to ride in snow like that! We get 2 inches of snow here, and "it's on!" Two inches of snow is considered great conditions here!

Sometime, I'll have to make the trip with some "pro's" so I can see how it's done!

Awesome pictures. Down here in the flatlands (Cornfield, IL) we have to ride when we get a heavy frost!!

Central MN Guy...where you from...I grew up in Sauk Centre. Doesn't get more "central" then that!

Matt Jennissen.

Grew up in Lester Prairie, MN. Straight East of Hutchinson by 15 miles. Sauk is more 'central' than Lester!

Central...

I would love to move back. SE Mn is no where near as beautiful as central mn...

Great pictures. Been out to West Yellowstone one time sleddin and skiing at Big Sky. My advice to all who plan to go is: Call ahead and find a hotel/rental sled package deal. In the long run it's very cheap, no worrying about your trailer, bearings, and so on. And you can get there faster without pulling a trailer. I would advise staying out of the park, very nice scenery but riding is boring because you can't go off any trails, (well unless you get caught) ha ha. Outside the park was awesome. Two Top is a cool area, plenty of powder to ride, almost surreal at times. The only bad thing about renting sleds is you can't drive your own, but I would rent again unless I got signed up on some bus/dealer type ride where your sleds get hauled out for you. Not that anyone cares, just my thoughts. Think Snow!

There is a group ride to west yellowstone. Your sled is hauled on semi trucks and you ride on a motorcoach. Incldes hotel, transportation, trail permits and guided rides. check it out at
