Just a dusting of snow here in irma...I know antigo had the same..elcho may have had a bit more...but the only place with rideable snow is the U.P. right now....also, as mentioned in another post...lakes aren't froze here...however it was 18 for a high today, and there was some ice on the wisconsin river (in the bays today). As far as I know...trails in northern wisconsin do not offically open until december 14th??? (I think)..so even if we had snow you couldn't ride...right now...just like every year...for early season riding you must head to the YOOP.

Got an email from my neighbor. He said there was about 2" of ice in one of the bays and about 7" snow on the ground. Of course, trails still not open but cold temps this week should help get things ready to go.

Anyone know if they opened the trails in Langlade?
The trails are still closed in Langlade Cty. Most trails have been "panned" and give the appearance that they are groomed, but we need a little more snow. Hope we get the predicted storm around christmas. I'm located in eastern Langlade Cty.

Rib Knights snowmobile club in Marthon County (I think that is the club around Marathon) panned their trails and in doing so exposed a lot of dirt. They are definitely not ready. Marathon County and surrounding counties have high standards to open trails. But when they do open they are awesome trails. Hopefully with the snow this week things will improve.
If we get the snow forcast, we are TENTATIVELY skeduled to open Saturday morning, 26 Dec.

Please keep us posted on snowfall, and if the trail opens. Thanks.
The trails in Zone "A" (trails North of Cty I & North of Hill Rd and East of Cty S) will open 27 Dec at 5PM. Use EXTREME CAUTION when crossing any lakes. If in doubt check with someone, or don't cross. This is early season riding, some rocks may not be covered; and some ruts/holes may not be filled. RIDE RIGHT/RIDE SAFE. See you on the trail.
All trails in Langlade Cty will open 31 Dec at 8 AM. Trail conditions vary, but overall are good.

Trail 16 from Lk Enterprise to Summit Lake was in good shape with some bare spots north of west elcho rd where they are still logging. Very good shape around Breezy Point.
Old trail 13 (west of 45) to elcho was in fair condition. Some bare spots in corners and wet spots near creeks.
Enterprise lake still has some slush and bare ice from blowing snow. But ice fisherman are out and reporting 6 to 8" of ice. Still have to be careful on the lakes.
Conditions still continue to be good in Langlade County. We could use more snow. Be very cautious of deer on the trail. I've had some very close calls with deer, both day & night.
Rode today from Wh. Lake to Bryant,to western Langlade cty, (some places were a little thin in the western part of the county, to Breezy Point, to Elcho, to Upper Post Lake, to Pickerel lake, to Pickerel, to Lily, to Bryant. all trails were good, but we need snow.
