It started snowing this afternoon..just south of Tomahawk...roads were greasy, but not bad....it's snowing harder now..but it's that real fine, small stuff...we have just over an inch of fresh snow since 4 PM..I will post updates through the evening, and tomorrow morning I will post pics.

Still snowing..moderate right now...a little over 2 inches at the house...NWS says between 9-10pm snowfall rate will pick-up...could be an inch an hour.
The snow is very wet...smaller flakes..almost feels like mist in the air...wind is picking up too.

radar shows things falling apart as it approaches Onto county. I wonder if the warm wet lake air is holding it's own against the storm?

lenny,
still snowing here...intensity has pick up a bit..it's wet..small flake stuff, so it's not accumulating as fast as I thought it would..maybe a 1/2 inch an hour over the past 4 hrs...winds are abit stronger..but not blizzard level yet.
Definately has picked up in the past 1/2 hr.
NWS update says it should pick up...and they have upped the snow totals for my area:
LINCOLN-LANGLADE-MENOMINEE-NORTHERN OCONTO-MARATHON-SHAWANO-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...TOMAHAWK...ANTIGO...KESHENA...WAUSAU
1019 PM CST TUE DEC 8 2009
.NOW...
MODERATE SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MIDNIGHT...WITH SNOWFALL
RATES UP TO AN INCH AN HOUR EXPECTED. EAST WINDS WILL INCREASE TO
15 TO 25 MPH...WITH HIGHER GUSTS...LEADING TO CONSIDERABLE BLOWING
AND DRIFTING SNOW...AND LOCAL WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.
WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT CST
WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
* SNOW WILL BECOME MODERATE TO HEAVY AT TIMES OVERNIGHT INTO
WEDNESDAY MORNING. THE HEAVIEST SNOW SHOULD FALL BETWEEN
MIDNIGHT AND NOON ON WEDNESDAY.
* 8 TO 12 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION CAN BE EXPECTED.

now have 3 1/2 inches of snow at my house, and snowing pretty good right now...picked up almost an inch in the last hour....radar shows the heavier bands of snow still in central and south central wisconsin..pushing to the north slowly...but the real heavy stuff is still down near madison/milwaukee..again it's pushing north..but it may take awhile to get up into far northern wisconsin and the U.P....though reports out of madison were snow falling at a rate of 2 inches an hour with some locations already reporting 7-9 inches.
Thats my last update tonight...I will post an update tomorrow morning with a few pictures (if possible).

Thanks BryanT for the updates. I will look for your reports in the morn. How far south of tomahawk are you? We have a place 15 miles NE of Antigo. I am assuming the ground is good and frozen up in your area already?

Still snowing here 8 plus inches....and again still accumulating...hard to tell..it's blowing so hard..this is wet heavy stuff...great for base for the trails..unfortunately..I think this is gonna hurt what thin ice we had on the lakes.
