Agree. There certainly are enough of us that frequent this board that ride there. TML appears to be a "major" sponsor of this site as well.

Can anyone give me an update on snow conditions?
Also, besides number on website, does anyone have a number to hotel? Everytime I call, I get ARAMARK and not the hotel!

Looks like Tog sell passes...
http://wyotrails.state.wy.us/Snow/Permits/index.asp
I think it was $30 for a non-resident pass...
Just talked to a local. Tog is still very light on snow compared to a normal season, but they have plenty to ride. The a-arm watch is low right now :)

Be careful in the Togwotee area right now. The snow is a lot less than it normally is. Expect to run over a lot of willows. We rode there 2/7-11 and had good riding once we got hooked up with our guide. Before that, we totaled a sled due to land mines just beneath the snow. Other lesser damage to other sleds. There is powder to be found, but you need to look. Here is a pic of if you look hard you will be rewarded. Also, the avalanche hazard is real! We saw numerous runouts that go right to the ground. One significant one occurred on 2/7 and another on 2/13. If in doubt, stay off anything above 35-40 degrees.

Ok, Heres your report. I am looking out the Window at Lava right now. The Trail from Lava to the CD Trail is not Groomed due to lack of Snow. We can ride the Ditch to Brooks to the North and South to the Trail Head, there is Gravel hitting our Ski's South and on the Trail going up the Mountain. Anything above 8500 ft has good Snow and there is plenty of Snow to get Stuck above 9000. Anyting under 9000 you will need a Iron Belly Pan if you go off Trail.
For everyone that was here last year there is about half the Snow that was hear last Year.
I put about 90 Miles on Today and will go south of Line Shack and Crooked Creek Monday and update everyone about the Trails down there.

Lava got wireless? North side of road up to Brookes lake rd. pretty bad? The Lava connector (south of Lava) to CD is always bad. You could always trailer to Brookes lake rd. and stage there. Are you just trail riding? Hope things work out! I will be out in 3 weeks.

Mt Pinnicle at Lava has Plugin Internet for us at Moosehaven.
We rode to Green River from Lava Today(150 miles). Trail from Lava to Crooked Creek/Line Shack has Gravel in Spots near Crooked Creek. South west of Crooked Creek has very good Powder Near Strawberry Shelter and in spots around Green River. The Powder is very loose and I stay on the Trail or else I would be Stuck. The Elk are not in the feeding area at Green River and we never found a Moose. The Bar is Closed south of Green River so there is NO GAS south of Crooked Creek/Line Shack.
There is plenty of Snow to play in above 8500. We never hit a Bump on the Trail South of Crooked Creek the Trails were excellent down South.
Tuesday we go north to Tog.

We ran thru a lot of Mud down toward Goosewing. We did see some Elk by Goosewing. The Trail from Goosewing to Lava has not been Groomed this year along with the J Trail down by Crooked Creek/Line Shack.
The Gravel and dirt is getting worse south of Lava Mt.
No new Snow Monday or Tuesday everything off Trail is getting Tracked up.

Were Home now and had a great Trip. Don't worry about Snow. The best Powder is just south of Strawberry Shelter on the south end. I put 580 Miles on and the only Dirt was by Lava Mtn(south access), Crooked Creek/Line Shack and Goose Wing.
My Daughter rode everywhere with her 120 GSX XP and never got stuck. So that pretty much explains how soft and deep it is.
One more thing I spent 2400.00 for 4 of us total staying at MT Pinnicle with Mary for 6 Nights including all Gas and Oil. I did blow out 1 Boot and broke my Goggles otherwise, no problems and only one mishap when one of our group rolled his several times and missed a tree by 1" up by Brooks.

Well here I sit in my cabin at Togwotee Mountain Lodge. Our group rode the last 2 days with Justin as our guide. We have traveled to Game Creek, Dry Lake, Grouse Mountain, and McMichael. The snow is really tracked up here and they need snow - you have to ride the trees. They have not had appreciable new snow in nearly 3 weeks. Now, having said that, we are still able to find some small areas of untouched deep powder that will get you big stucks. We found an area yesterday around grouse that was deep and in the trees and we were able to play for about 2 hours and we had a blast. You will also need to be willing to cross some creeks or ravines that you will get stuck in and have to bang your way through. But usually there are rewards on the other side.
Today we are heading south to get far from the lodge to find more untracked. That worked some yesterday and we will try it again today. I don't have many pics yet as I have been shooting a lot of video. I'll try to take some pics today and make a post tonight.

Here is a pic of one of the creek crossings that we made yesterday and our guides sled stuck. I thought cats didn't like water! Anyway, the weather has been sunny and the temperatures during the afternoons have been in the low 40's. You build up a pretty good sweat digging.

Ready and willing! As long as the guides are going to take us off the beaten path, we're ready to follow.
Looks like you've got a 50% chance of snow on Thursday at least! That's lucky.... Looks like early next week only has a 20% so far...

Just got off the phone with Tog. lodge. Lava Mtn. south bare ground. head Nw/west for better snow. No new snow in past 3 weeks. My favorite spots ridden hard. Suppose to get snow everyday except Saturday according to a source that Rick Mom has. I have seen weather change by the hr. in Togwotee so anything can happen. Still heading out on the 20th. Riding 6 days and Hill Climb on the 27th. RevKev, I got Justin for a guide. Carter is booked full. I suspect we can tag along at least 1 day with the large group that Rick has going. Yesterday we took a long trail ride to get away from TML. We then headed up a creek bed into the backcountry and were rewarded with untouched snow for most of the day. We had to roll a sled or two and have a major stuck fest to get into the area, but the snow was awesome. There is snow in spots, but as Firecatguy said, you will go through a skill test to get there. We are going back to the same area today to finish what we started yesterday. We had to take extra gas to be able to make it back after playing for the day.
That is Justin's Cat in the water. He was not the only one that ended up in the drink, but I felt I should post his pic. Carter has been guiding a big group for the last couple weeks.
Snow is in the forecast, but as I type this the sun is coming up and the skies are clear. We had a few snow squalls yesterday, but nothing accumulated. Temps have been in the low 40's so we are riding in a jersey and tek vest. It's pretty nice.
Watch out for Avy's, as we tripped another one yesterday.

I was in Dry Lake last week and it was pretty tracked up. We were able to find a couple areas where there were some meadows to play in. We did find a nice untouched meadow at Grouse mountain next door though and I am certain we left some areas untouched.
Nice photo Pat! That snow looks fresh rather than the "old stuff" most of us have ridden in the last couple weeks.

what a trip, it was great meeting and riding with team ring ding. And i'll tell you what, thank you for all the reports of low snow. I appreciated the low competition and the great service of the Togwatee mountain lodge. was my first trip out there and even though everybody kept telling us about low snow conditions the guides took us every day to untouched powder. I can't wait to go back and experience a "normal" winter. Special theanks to Brent and Carter for showing us the SNOW that everyone said didnt exist.

Depends on a lot of things. I always go out with discounts of some sort. Depends on time of year too. Right now they have a 25% discount for low snow. I get Sledheads discount of 10% at times and if you go with Mom's MotorsportsRick MOm gets pkg. pricing. Do the all inclusive to get guide, meals and Happy hr.. shop it and plan ahead helps a lot. It is worth every penny. 5 days and I am out there.

I think what he is saying Wayne, is the Web Cam shows low snow, but their is Much more snow Higher up. Basically the Rule this Year at togwotee is, Head UP in Elevation. CD trail to the West of the Lodge Had some bare spots, but there were ways around. Anywhere to the East on CD or X as long as your Increasing in elevation your OK. On X, as you go past Brooks Lake Lodge, the Snow starts to thin out. Just Remember, Elevation is Your Freind this Year.

Matt has been gone a couple years now. I did ride with Matt 2 years ago when I was staying at Lava Mtn. lodge but not at Togwotee.

Matt is still in the area and was at the lodge in March when we were there. He was going to ride with us but had sled issues one day and couldn't get out of bed another, lol. Maybe next year.

Yep! Matt is from Wisconsin and his parents are still here. I have seen him up at Tog numerous times as he still rides and likes to meet up with friends and former customers at happy hour or in the bar. He and Justin stay in touch as well.

Noticed they revamped their web site, but the web cam link seems to be missing, and the cam is offline:(

New look was needed, but you're right no webcam. What the #$%&?
Also, you click on their "Extreme Snowmobiling Tours (http://www.togwoteelodge.com/play/winter/snowmobiling/trail-riding.aspx)" section under snowmobiling and the link takes you directly to "Trail Riding". That's not gonna work! Yuck, who does that out there? LOL
Looks like the link there is just screwed up and it should take you here... http://www.togwoteelodge.com/winter/snowmobiling/extreme-snowmobiling.aspx

I'm still looking for someone to man up and go west with me to the snowies. Everyone I ride with is claiming to be to busy. I have plenty of time to take off work and go between now and June 13. Then I will be busy until the end of November of so. Stack, Let's go west!!!
