Has anyone seen that they are grooming anywhere in the U.P or know when they will start?

The trail was groomed through Hancock when I drove to work yesterday. It was not groomed when I drove to work today, but we had a lot of wind and snow in the last 24 hours.

I'm sure someone else can provide much better information.

Carolyn posted that the trails in the LG area are being groomed minus the drag. Drags to be added later this week.

Sno Valley Riders started grooming today. Trail 8 from Sidnaw to Bruce Crossing was groomed today and Trail 3 from Bruce Crossing to Rockland will be groomed in the morning. They are just panning at this point to set up a base. The Iron River groomer has also been out but I don't know exactly which trails they hit.

U.P. Thunder Riders Watersmeet started grooming yesterday. All trails are in pretty good to fair condition. Need more snow.

Will be getting the groomer out by Sunday Morning. Waiting for a little bit more traffic. Not sure if enough snow to stay grooming, fluffy snow will pack to nothing. Didn't get hit as hard as west of here with last storm.

They plan on sending the groomers out on tuesday the 15th. I will update as to what trails were groomed. Trail 14 from Big Bay to L'Anse is closed due to logging and trail 159 is closed due to easement issues (second year).

Made it out last night in the groomer, trails aren't too bad, but still early season riding. Watch out for rocks, logs, branches, and water holes.

Groomers are out in the Ironwood area, it will take awhile to get all trails open as swamps and wet areas will need to freeze up. Sam

Seney, grand maris & newberry are grooming, (packing base), trails are in early season condition, some swamp areas are not frozen yet, anywhere from 6 to 20 inches as of 12/13/09. Need more to make it good.

Renagade, Do you know when Trail 14 will be open?

I was told a few weeks. Seems there will be a re-route and the re-route is what is being logged now. As soon as they are done the groomer will head out and groom it. They will be taking the logs out on the triple A road which is a county road and my understanding is that the logging truck traffic will be heavy on that road. So be safe and watch for them big trucks ;-)

I was told today that the groomers are now scheduled to go out on Wednesday. I will keep ya posted.

I did ride trail 109 south of Alston. Lots of water and trees down. They are sending out a crew ahead of the groomer to clear the way. Due to the (deep) water this area did not get brushed this fall. You just couldn't get in there and had to wait for it to freeze up.

IF....the Baraga club.......IF they groomed 109 they had a little extra work cutting and moving some large trees that were blocking the trail. Tuesday afternoon the trail looked like the Ho Chi Min trail after a B52 bombing run. Felt like it too. I hope it improves because it can be a neat trail to ride. THINK SNOW

We just returned from cutting all the downed trees off the 109 south of Alston. Groomer is on the trail. There isnt much snow back in the swamp so I am not sure how much better it will be after grooming. Prey for much more snow! :-D

Just got in from grooming trail 13 from Greenland through Rockland out to Norwich rd, South west of ontonagon. All water on that trail is froze now. All in all that trail is in good condition. Around Rockland area can be a tad rough but sled traffic is lower this week compared to last. Not muck new snow this last week but honestly the trail was good to very good. I have not riding sled yet this year so I cannot comment on any other trails but i know they are grooming all Superior Snowmobile trails, Right Sandy?
