All Dane County trails except the southwest quadrant are open. Was out last night and they were awesome. All the tracks are packing it down and catching the drifting snow. They should get better every day.

Awesome! Sure would be great to go 3 yrs in a row without driving to the UP. This could be the nail in the coffin for some business up there if the snow doesn't melt all around the MW:(

Can anybody recommend a decent staging area near 39 & 51, or in the SE Quadrant?

Looking to do a little shake down run before our New Years trip to Da Yoop.

My thought is to go to Coachman's golf resort and park there. The trail runs directly in front of it. It at 51/39 exit near Stoughton. I will try to call them again today to confirm.

I am looking for a place to unload in Dane also. Wolfriver read what the people asked because Dane is open. Land o Lakes is open also. I just want to ride a bit to make sure everything works after the summer.

Everything is so close right there! I will have to check when I get home. My inlaws live on koshkonong in milton (rock county) and 100 yards off shore is jefferson county! Soo harvest might be right but its not to fair off the county line! Sorry for the bad info! Andrew sorry

The truck stop is called Winchester Resturant and it is just over the Dane county line in DANE county. The trail has been rerouted some. When leaving the parking lot you need to go left 1/4 mile until you get by some storage units left takes you to lake Koshkonong and right goes toward Coachmans Inn (great food).

Plowed fields are snirty and thin. Other spots are awesome. I dropped in East Bristol and put on 100 miles from there. Wanted to get a ride in to try out my studs. Trails could use a grooming if clubs opt to, it wouldn't hurt. How many gas stations does Dane have near the trail. I only found one and that was in E. Bristol. I would say the trails are in better shape than the local and county roads in Dane County.

We dropped in at Coachman's (Thanks) and were suprised at the amount of snow (18-20in.) and the smooth trails. Went up through the NE quadrand and had lunch at Timbers in Deforest. Blasted back down through Cottage Grove where my buddies XCR blew a chain. Conditions deteriorated riding back to the truck but overall very good conditions for the first run of the year. If you live within two hours and didn't bother this weekend, your loss! These were typical of mid season conditions. 120 miles total. Lot's of sleds out. Great way to start the season.

Drove to Deforest and dropped at the Token Creek Park(Pine Cone Restaurant). Met 4 local riders that allowed my son and I to tag along. Thank you again. Rode NE and some of NW quadrants. Some areas had good snow and some plowed fields all snirt. Very rough in some areas. Still a good day...We were RIDING!..Ended up with 85 miles. We got to break in the new yamaha Vector and check out new X2 skis & clutch kit on FST. They are closing SE quadrant tonight and opening SW quadrant tomorrow. Thanks for the info on drop points. It was greatly appreciated.

That didn't last long. On Friday, the SE & NE quadrants were still in pretty good shape. John doesn't have that area getting more before the holidays either...
