Northern Adams needs more snow to make the trails any better. Not much out there to work with. Ground was not frozen well before we got the last snowfall therfore alot of spots where there is sand mixed into the snow on the trails. Tried regrooming today but halted because just kept mixing more sand into the trail. We really need more snow.

How is Adams fairing with this storm? It looked like on radar it was going to also turn into a rain event in this area as well tonight. hows it lookin up that way?

Not sure what the conditions are in Adams county. I'm down in Jefferson county visiting my son for the Holiday. It is all rain here. I am hoping that it has turned to snow further north. Iwill be back up to Rome on Saturday some time. I will post conditions when I get there.

I was hoping to head up on Sunday and ride both Sunday and Monday. Hopefully they got some snow out of this mess. All though I doubt it as I have been in Chippewa Falls for the past two days and it has mostly rained here so I am sure it was more rain in Adams County. I will be curious to hear Gary's trail report.

We are 30 miles north of Adams. We got about 2.5" on Thurday and about 2" on top of the ice last night. I would guess you'd have a very icy base but it wouldn't be the end of the world. There's fluffy snow on top.

Thanks Pfeifest,
Just drove back up here this afternoon. Cleaned about 2" of ice and about 1-2" of snow off of the drive. I have not gotten out on the trails yet but the reports I get are about the same as you described. I talked to our trail boss and he said that the conditions are about what Pfeifest discribed but definetly nothing there to try and groom. If the ice hold up that should be a good base. Now all we need is a good dumping of snow on top of that. I will try and get out tomorrow and get a first hand look at what we have.
