Gotta love it! I know it's gonna cause a lot of travel pains for people, but I think it's just great that we're gonna get the brunt of it Christmas Eve and Day. Just adds to the whole Christmas experience!

Looks like our Christmas wishes have been granted. Driving up to Emily, MN family place from Cincinnati this weekend to get a week of sledding with my son. He just got his safety certificate two weekends ago and can't wait to get on his '96 Indy Lite project sled.
We were getting pretty worried there wouldn't be enough snow. Now I'm just hoping the plows will have done their work before we come through so can just drive right in and jump on the sleds.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I usually am very excited about these storms, but family comes first and we have had to cancel a large get together 'cause some have a great distance to travel and that really bums me out.

I haven't been this excited for Christmas since I was a little kid. While family is important, a storm like this doesn't happen every year!

I guess our tourism dollars aren't appreciated by everyone in the UP.

This is just what we needed! I will be spending a lot of time in my truck plowing Christmas Day and early Saturday morning but it will be well worth it when my boys and I can go rip it up. Heading up to Detroit Lakes Saturday afternoon and hoping to play on the lake and farm.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I just hope this storm isnt like the Vikings and lets us down again. Up north resorts really need this, not mention my children all asked for a big snowstorm for Christmas.

any updates up there, I tried to reroute but everything is booked up, If we get stuck in minneapolis atleast I can go snowmobiling for a day up there but just want to know if we will make it that far, should get in minn around 9:45 tonight
I'd be surprised if you get in tonight to Mpls. Just saw on the news that they are determined to keep one runway open but I have to imagine everything is going to be delayed so bad and the heaviest snow isn't supposed to hit til late this afternoon. Good luck!

We had to cancel family plans also, but hey, we can eat just as much on Sunday as today, and I would way rather see the snow. I am so excited to have this Christmas blizzard. Hope everyone uses common sense and is careful about travel. The calender is not as important as your life, and turkey, ham or pie taste just as good two days later. The boom for our depressed economy up north here is the big winner. Our group of twenty or so riders almost canceled our trip to Grand Rapids, MN coming up this Tuesday, but are so happy that we can now go enjoy our great trails here in MN. Anyone from Grand Rapids area have a current snow report for me? Yahoo, ( spontaneous bursts of joy)

Reporting in from Duluth. Downtown is a mess with fast melting slush; HOWEVER, over the hill got pretty hammered. Unofficially, I'd say they got between 16-20" I'll be riding towards the NSST and will report in on trail conditions. I suspect the North Shore came out with some big totals as well.
