HOLLA! Cats vs. crap that doesn't fall in the box. Big cats don't need a litter box when they are superior to all others.

Pat, myself, Andy, Ken... we have enough representation from the #1 mountain sled.

Any Yamahas?

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Wait until Poo and Ski Dog see the 2012 Mountain Cat; not even going to mention the other sled maker, no Premier doesn't make mountain sleds and neither does the other one.

Rules for getting Stuck change the whole experience of riding in the UP or out west. We have came up to other members of our group who were "delayed" and they begged us NOT to touch their sled.

Stuck - If anyone needs to assist you in ANY sort of way. This means digging, rolling, pulling, lifting, touching the throttle, etc.

Not Stuck - if you get the sled out on your own without ANY help.

Carving > No problems here. Rock'n and Rolling just fine! All you do is lose the say bar and add throttle! Had that figured out ASAP... addition of some new shocks will suit me just fine too. ;)

Didn't do the ski swap? Go do a test on your garage floor. Slowly pull your sled over to one side until you feel it want to kick back upright. (The outer carbide holder for that ski will touch the concrete and give you some resistence from going further.) After doing that, swap the skis inside out, then try the same trick again. You'll notice that (what is now the outer part of the ski), will not have the resistence at the same point the inner carbide did. In fact, you should notice it continue to tip, and the outer edge will flex a bit because it's softer. I was having trouble carving in normal conditions the past couple years, feeling like the sled wanted to right side up, but noticed the difference after the swap. Just a tip I found from doo talkers and BJ.

First I flattened the tabs with a hammer, then tex screwed it to the can. I used to have it on the pipe but it didn't heat up to well. Got that idea from snowest (before the dark days)i think. They said it worked well.

Yep did the ski switch-a-roo. That may have helped... the biggest diff was seen in the removal of the sway bar. Stock ski's won't make a difference this year... bent one in yoop last year screwing around. Bought my bro's slydogs.

doospunk
09-09-2010, 03:50 PM
Yeah, I didn't cut out the sway, but picked up a set of those quick disco's last year. Having that, combined with the ski swap will hopefully make it a bit easier this year!

I think Arctic Cat doesn't want to change the "Barney" (Thats funny Wayne) front end because as dated as it looks that sled does float well over powder with that big "boat bow" nose design. I think M's are a great powder sled, but I'm still a Doo guy cause Doo's Do and Cats Poo and Polaries are scary (I know I'm stupid). Actually that new Polaris Pro RMK 155 looks pretty sweet, with a weight of only 431 pounds - should be a nice sled as long as they didn't give up strength for wieght loss.

I don't know if I would call running into trees and stumps a break down. I have had more carnage this season so far than all the previous years combined I think.

I'll have an extra set of handlebars that will work on a Ski-Doo or Arctic Cat. I also called down to the AC dealer in Laramie and they're pretty much fully stocked on the common breakables.
