Highmarking isn't much fun to me but I'll play. I'd rather pick each others lines through the trees or in the untouched deep stuff.

Skylar, don't worry about that 600, my switchback carbed 600 is good until 11,000 feet before it won't go no more. The 755 fuel injected RMK will pull cats up the mountain until the oxygen runs out.

Which trip? I am doing Cooke City for sure in Jan. and either 10 mile at the Snowies or Togwotee if they are going during 3rd or 4th week of March and riding with Carter I will do that for sure and not do 10 mile. They need to decide soon about Tog.. I am not going to be on their first trip because it is to close to the Cooke City trip and I am riding with RevKev and Moms crew on that.

Hmmm - I guess ya couldn't call it a JD shoot-out, without JD there! Like Pat said, connect with Skylar John. I think he's got a couple cabins reserved trying to hedge on some headcount. The more the better. I think most, if not every cabin is booked out there, with folks from your site.

Cuzz, your Father switched to Poo before you were old enough to remember. I had to remove you from that bad influence before the Department of Children and Family Services took you away. Sent you to Jersey for your own well being. Obviously your Father never saw the light and that is why we are still no longer together. I have just recently allowed him to re-enter our lives. Sorry to break it to you son.

On another note, Jason and Mike both ride MTX's. They are talking smack behind the scenes and may chime in here later. I heard something about a turbo...?

Whats up all. Mike here, Jason's friend (with the MTXs).
Glad to be going with some vets., concidering we are new to the mountain picture. have been riding for years, but did not know any better. Finally see the light. Cant wait to spray you all, i mean meet you all.

Hurd all this talk about yamahas being no good, so i couldnt just sit back and watch, I had to put my $.02 in.
Had an brand new pullurass, last of the XCSP. Blew up with 1700 miles, TURD!!! Still have one, a triple triple, still a turd.
Bought a new "XP" chassis ski-dont, bent it like a pretzel, just trail riding it. Another paper weight TURD!!!
Havent owned a ditch pickle yet, thank god. But all the ones ive rode with, im sorry sat on the side of the trail with, do not have a big enough trunk to carry all the tools and parts you need to keep them running, and again another TURD!!!
So i ride a yamaha (the japanese f$%&#$s), carry a spare belt and my key thats all thats needed. No extra oil, no rolling tool chest full of parts and tools.
Dont get me wrong, I Hate not buying American. But we got sick of down machines, cutting in on riding time. so got rid of those TURDS. I was a true poo man, loved my edge, till the turd blew up. Broke the crank in two right before the outside of the case. i wish pulluras gave me another reason to buy one without having to worry. But until then, go BLUE!! Just sold my apex with over 6000 miles on it, with no issues. That is one of the reasons i got into this off trail mess.

Its funny to see the smack talk start already and its only September. BRING ON THE SNOW!!!

Got to go, hear the turbo calling.
Hope no harm done, was meant for a all to laugh.

I remember my first trip to the mountains. I was afraid to be more than 100 yards from the trail and still got stuck dozens of times. It all depends on the conditions. I remember stepping off my sled and sinking up to my chest and still not touching ground. Other times it was hero snow and you could go anywhere. Either way, you guys are going to have a blast. With the crew that is going, I don't know how you couldn't.

I would do the supercharger instead of the turbo, that would be cool.

Pretty much, all the newer machines are good. This year sledheads 24/7 has polaris's RMK for mountain of the year, the dig pickle dethroned.

Heck, I am never home. But you are somewhat safe here. Doing a fall bike ride/color tour fri. And sat. Got to use up some chrome cash at the HD dealer. Plan to head up to Traverse City with my bride of 30 yrs. She says she needs to get some more miles on before winter. Possible going to hit the tunnel of trees north of Harbor Springs. Have you ever stayed there? Nice joint, has a movie room loaded with movies and a big screen T.V, nice restaurant, and they just got their liquor license so they now serve beer. Its a super easy drive up the hill to the drop off point. Anyway looking forward to it, I think there will be about 12 or more different riding groups with all of the people coming. Keith, Rich, Dave, Dave, Jay, Ken, Todd, Jason, Mike, and Jason (Harry)

Also have a room at The Friendly Store for Andy and Wayne. May switch to the Old Corral if that is where everyone else is staying.

LOL. My ability to strategically respond has been sapped by the newbie and 2 year old who have combined for allowing Tracy and I about 3-4 hours of sleep each of the last few nights, supplemented by a pretty busy work day!! I promise that I'll try and do better next time.

OK buddy, I'll let ya off the hook this time!

I have two of the small cabins, myself, Kim in one, Joe and his son in the other.

I hate to be a pessimist but,----you guys might not want to be advertising to the world exactly where you'll be, on what date, with what year, make, and model of sled! You just might not have it with you when you leave. You never know what kind of shady characters are out there, and it has happened before with the connection to thieves researching discussion boards to do their "shopping".
Thats what they make PM's for. Just sayin.

My sled is heavily insured. I could only get so lucky. Way less hassle than selling a sled. Sleds get stolen everywhere. My sled is way to heavy to pick up and way to fussy to start without following the proper proceedures. Besides it has a gps locator device that calls my cell phone and let's me know it is being stolen. Life is good!!!!

Maybe they just need a couple parts off your paticular sled? Not enough to claim, but enough to ruin your days ride.

I am so glad "Danger" is going. We did some male bonding at the bar accross the street from the "Frat" house in Mass City. I think he would be great to have as sled security or as a body guard at the Bar. Heck, he is like 7' tall. yet as gentle as Red, but thats our secret. We will have to decide on group sizes when out there and maybe switch it up a bit each day. No way can we try to do all of us together. last time we did that it was getting dark and we could still see camp.lol

My new 800 E-Tec sounds pretty sweet on videos I've been watching... its in at the dealer I just have to go to the Keweenaw and pick it up. But if its anything like my 600 E-tec then I don't have worry about making anybody mad with excessive noise. I bought a MBRP can for my 600 but never put it on because I figured why possibly lose HP at high altitude when I only have a 600 anyway. My thinking when I bought it was the weight savings difference between stock and MBRP but back when I got it the E-Tec was brand new and there was not many people running them and some where saying they also had other issues with cans and the new E-Tec's. No issues just have to take care of a sensor. Long story short I have for sale a brand new in the un-opened box a MBRP can for the 2009, 2010, 2011 600 E-Tec machines, anybody need one?

I know why Chris at Mountain Meadow prabably hates the loud cans... He hates them because they cause land closures and he HATES land being closed period. They are under constant attack up there from the x/c whiners--I mean skiers, and the number 1 thing they whine about is noise. Its not like he going to give you a bunch of crap or kick you out of the place, I just know its one of his pet peeves and if you want him to stack wood for ya and possibly sell you fuel, having a loud can is not the best way to get on his good side. Just some friendly advise from a guy who's ridden with, talked with, and stayed with Chris many times. He is one of the best dudes up there and you definitely want him on your side, because if you have to spend the night on the mountain for some reason, he is more than likely the one who's going to come looking for you!!

I can't believe I haven't picked it up either, even though it just came in a few days ago. I have been so damn busy with muskie fishing and leaf removal (I started a landscape company in June) that I can't seem to break away... Responsibilty Sucks!! My buds 900 is a full SLP pipe/can, he gained power for sure. Mine has the SLP can on it, real hard to tell if there was a loss or a gain. My brothers m8 has the Skinz Ultra Q on it, again, hard to tell if gained or lost hp. With his and mine it was about the weight loss more than the chance to gain hp. My brother also has a Straightline y-pipe on his, that did feel like he gained some hp, he had that before he put the can on.

Yep, I know all about that scenario... since all I have is a suitcase under my hood still. I just try and ask other riders about their "can" experiences when I get the chance. Ideally I'd like to ride with another 800R XP like mine but with an after market can before I drop $300 bones on a can that may end losing me HP just for a weight loss... I've also eaten less cheese burgers this year and have lost 15 lbs... that may help. :)

Hey Paul, I have ridden with a guy out west that has the 800R XP and he has one of those carbon fiber cans, they weigh something like 2.3 pounds. He didn't notice any loss of power or say anything about his can at all so it was just fine for him. It seemed to me like he could climb anything so I couldn't notice a difference. It sounded sweet as heck when he was at full throttle.. wasn't too loud but had a sweet roar. If I had one of those engines I would do it for the weight savings alone... remember I'm just a little guy.

I rode with a guy last year, Big Air Crash on here, that had one of those carbon fiber cans. It was stock like quiet at idle and midrange, but sounded nice at WOT. But not annoying loud.

Chris, due to your weight, you are required to add at least 50 lbs to your sled, anytime we ride together! LOL.

Skylar can already attest to that! Should have seen him and I when we swapped sleds! I felt like I was holding onto my knees riding his, while he looked as if he was holding on for dear life - mainly because I've got10" riser! Can't describe it! You had to be there to see it!

Paul - I know we've talked about this a couple times, but looking back, I'd have to say the biggest advantage was just the fact that I can get my hands in there now. With that big arse suitcase in there, it's literally impossible to get at anything from that side.

Yep we have. I just would like to see it before I buy it. Yes, any work in that side is a PITA... some day, we'll see.
