I am in Marquette and we dont have much snow here. How far do you think I will have to go for rideable conditions? I have the 1st-3rd off from work and want to get my new sled out. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

The snow if definately rideable in the Mohawk area to Phoenix. A good friend of the site "Stack" took a ride today and he let me know there was plenty. I have to agree that the trail would be ok. Still to early to go off trail now.

I am South of Munising about 15 miles. (Just South of the Buckhorn)
We had about 3.5 inches of snow that melted down to slush. Temps dropped yesterday afternoon and created a beautiful ice slush base of approx 1.5 inches. Now there is an inch on top of the base and still coming down.
I am dropping a friend off at Sawyer airport tomorrow morning. I am torn between wanting this LES to hammer us so I can hit the trails on dec 1. He has had enough of the cold and is heading back to Florida where it is 80.
I bought 2 trail permits today. $70.00 sure was shocking to hear from the cashier at the BP. Even though I knew it was coming.

I picked my sled up in Michigamme on Thanksgiving day and they had a good 5 inches. I think I will be heading towards the the western up to ride as I think they have the most snow over there. Is there ridable snow in Baraga? If so maybe ill unload there and ride.

m8man,
Ssshhhh!! Quiet on the Mohawk to Pheonix area... that area sucks bigtime!! Everyone forget they heard those cuss words come from m8man, those are sinners words. Remember all of the good riding and the best snow is south of the bridge. And remember its always to early to ride offtrail, He-He... Ha-Ha...LOL

I work in Baraga and there may be 2-3 inches there and it is supposed to be up around 40 Sunday and Monday so I don't think it will last to well.

Good Luck they are calling for 40's tomorrow and 40's with possible rain on Monday. I really hope that doesn't happen...

There was some good snow for this time of year about Calumet North, but I am a little worried about the chance or rain in the next 2 days. The warm temps will help pack the base, but the rain just plain sucks.
It was nice getting a ride in this weekend on the sleds, and I hope it will be looking better for our trip up on the 10th. Keep your fingers crossed that Mother nature helps us out.
