Do people suggest going to Togwotee or the Snowies?

What places are recommended to stay at in each location?

Snowies for me! We stay at the Old Corral and trailer up to Greenrock (15 min or so) Gas right next door at the Friendly store.

Snowies here. I stay at Mountain Meadows up on the hill and bring gas. We usually make it down to Centennial to get gas/food one night.

Tog here!! Though I'm biased because I haven't been to the snowies. Heading there in January, so my thought may change! THis topic has been debated so much, but I'll state it once again. Can't beat the fact that the guides in Tog will push you above and beyond what you thought were your limits. In addition, you can't beat the fact knowing you don't have to worry about where you are and how to get back. The guides will take you to anything you feel like riding - i.e. - climbing, meadows, boondocking, trees, etc. Don't need to waste your time trying to find good stuff, and worrying where you are.

You can't go wrong with either place. Been to both and love the riding equally the same. Here's my decision maker... Tog is 6-7 hours further drive. If you stay at Tog lodge its more expensive lodging, if you stay in Jackson at the Rustic Inn its a 45 mile drive each way to the hill. Because of these factors I would have to go with the Snowies for my first choice, but the bottom line for me is where's the best snow and that's where I go - more money, longer drive, don't care. Lookin' for the deepest, most fresh snow.
