We had a great time, I know now why they call them the blowies also. WOW. There was no carnage, and no avy's! There was good snow if you knew where to look. We didn't know where to look, so we rode until we found it! I knew that we needed to get to the west side, and get into the trees, to find the good stuff, so that is what we did. I've never used a gps before, but I bought one for this trip, and also the 24k TOPO map for tha area on an sd card. It was very useful it helping us AVOID dropping down into a couple of spots that we may have not gotten out of.

Flat light sucks! Joe didn't see this creek until it was too late! He hammered it to try to jump it, hit hard into the other side, breaking his plastic cowling with his knee, and then stayed on the gas to try to get out, and then stuffed it into the bank on the other side. LOL. A little digging, and some help from the rattler, and we had it out.

I think Thursday was the best day of riding. On our way back from the west side the clouds were clearing out, and we did some hill climbing in the Lake Marie area. It was blowing so hard I did not even know these hills were there. LOL.

I bought mine here, http://www.gpscity.com/garmin-topo-us-24k-mn-microsd-card.html Very cool! Take out the sd card that is in the gps, and plug the topo sd card in. I have the Garmin GPSMap 60csx.

Here is my problem ...I keep my GPS right on the sled and its a Garmin Nuvi 1450 and does not have the SD card Slot on it .And really don`t wana do the Download ...I am thinking with the SD cards I can buy one for outr west and also one for around here at home..So i may have to buy a new GPS ....I like the 1450 cause of the huge 5 inch screen (old guy bad eyes) LOL

I think my buddy Joe may invest in a pair of knee/shinguards after he jammed his knee into the console. LOL.

You too Pat, I am glad we were able to run into each other on Friday's ride! Thanks for the dog! Joe's son rides pretty darn good for his age, he was right with us all 3 days. If we could have gotten his sled dialed in a little better he would have not gotten as stuck as much as he did. You should have seen him poke his sled into a big pine on Friday. LOL. Kim has a picture of it. It didn't hurt anything, but he managed to knock most of the snow off the thing lol.

I don't see any water wings in any of those pics. Must not have been deep enough.:D Nice pics. I think I saw your bro trail side on the first day out, just a ways up from the cabins. Had I known at the time I would have stoped to say hello.
