Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes everyone. Tomorrow I will have an angiography done to make sure there is no need for any bypasses to be done while they are in there fixing the valve and then looks like Wednesday will be the big dance.

It has brought me to tears more than once to know so may good people care so much about the Dees. We truly live a blessed life.

John, we've never met personally but I've been a member since the early days of JohnDee.com Through your journals we've come to know your family and their surroundings rather well so challenges such as you're facing now, become personal.

You should know that you have an extended family here wishing you well and a speedy recovery in the coming days and weeks. We'll be anxious to hear of your experiences and well-being after the surgery.

All the best in care and support!

Good news!
John is in ICU and recovery very well. They were able to repair is valve so he didn't need the replacement. So far this surgery and recovery is much, much better than last time. I left him in good spirits, breathing on his own, with good stats. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We sure felt them today! The nurse asked if he has any chronic pain and he pointed to me! haha So he's even regained his sense of humor:)

Home, Sweet, Home!

Nora and I arrived back in town just a bit ago and she is off to get Gracie and the puppies.

The recovery is still going very well. I just need to start getting more than 3 hours of sleep a night!

I can't wait to see Gracie and the pups and have us back as a whole family again.

I am sure I will write more Sunday, but wanted to get the latest out there and also than everyone again for all of their well wishes and prayers.

-John

Super News! So glad your home!! You behave yourself now cause I think Nora has the upper hand right now ;)

Prayers for continued success with your recovery, Linda & Mike

'Tis really great to hear that you're back home, John. Family time will certainly help with the recovery. That and snortin' plenty o' the "Purest, most vitalizing air on Earth! (http://www.pasty.com/cam/2001/b0903.jpg)" sure won't hurt!

Hi Everyone.

A quick update. I continue to heal up. The recovery this time is 100 times better than the last one. Yesterday they took the last remaining drain tubes out and it looks like I should be going home tomorrow or Tuesday. I sure do appreciate all the thoughts and prayers.

Oh, and with regards to the "chronic pain" thing... It was the drugs talking !

-John

John,

Great news that you are home and doing better after the procedure.

I want to warn you about the "chronic pain" that will likely be coming your way, probably when you lease expect it. Wives never forget things like that.

Best wishes to you and your family.

Glad to hear that everything is going along ok. Hope you have a quick recovery and that you don't have to go through anything like this again any time soon.

Wish I would have known you were staying in Wausau. We would have put you up here at our place for the night. If you came across on Hwy 29, you only missed us by a few miles.

Good luck on the recovery and God bless you!

it sure is good to hear things are going well, thank God and to all who made this happen for you. If you have anything pressing around the home front, give me a yell, I'll make time.

Geez...leave the country for a month...and look what happens!

John's wires get disconnected, just to get a free tax ride to Minnesota....the pups get to go on vacation with strangers, and Nora and the baby are wonder'n where home is.....

I'm not leave town any more...takes too long to get caught up on this fast movin crowd.

Oh, and if this is all just a big ploy to get Nora to feed the wood stove next winter so's you can go snowmoing more on your new sled....well all I can say is....well....good one!

John,
Just read the journal from 6-6-11. Great to hear you are back on the mend my friend!!

The comment on Grace growing fast cracks me up, they do. Enjoy each walk, talk, bike, and sledding trip to the fullest.

Oh by the way, 'bout a month ago I saw you with the hat on in a journal pic that I left Lori for you. Good to see!!!!!!!!!

Get well soon! GIVE THOSE GIRLS HUGS! They deserve it.
