I store my sleds inside and once a month start them up and let them run for 10 minutes. Saturday I started up the 550 fan and it ran for about 1 minute and then stalled. I proceed to try starting it again and it would only start a few times with the choke on half way and run for 5 seconds. It will fire with starter fluid but not run. I took the spark plugs out and poured gas into the cylinders and again would fire but not start. It's seems obvious that it's not getting gas. Anyone else ever have this problem. I have a game plan but would like to hear from others first.

Is the gas on?

Try tapping on the top of the carbs with the end of a big handle screw driver/Pry bar. sometimes the needles can stick between start ups. A good tap will lossen the needle from the seat.

that happened to me on my wifes indy that we have and it ended up being that the fuel pump was all gunked up.

The previous suggestions are all good.

We've all jumped to conclusions when troubleshooting. Enough gas in the tank? Shut-Off Valve is open? Almost certainly short on fuel from your description.

I've had this happen in my experience, I'll get it to fire and then spritz a can of Starter Fluid over the intake whenever it starts to die. Often times this will get the gas flowing and the engine cycling to continue on it's own. Once you get to that point, just let it idle until the engine warms up to temp.

Again, check for the obvious first. Years ago on my old Polaris the engine died during a ride with a half a tank of gas. I pulled that rope until I was red faced and gasping for air. Eventually I looked in the tank, EMPTY! The float on the corkscrew gas gauge had stuck at the midway point....
