I have two buddies from work out there breaking in their new Cats now. One has a turbo 1100 and the other has a HCR M8. I haven't from them yet but they are there through the New Year.

Talked to Carter yesterday and he said that Al was adjusting to the Cat pretty well. This snow should help things.

Yeah Al was kind of wondering if he made the right move to the turbo with the extra weight and everything.I figured he get it figured out.

He's still wondering.....LOL... that thing is like a john Deere, he's looking for stickers...8 in. when I drove into the lot, and 3 during the day... and yes we are enjoying it. 4 days of sun coming up. bummer, need more white stuff. Weird pattern this time, more snow closer to the lodge then at the pass,????? Chris, lost Lake was awesome....

Maybe I should of let him take my new Switchback Assault so he could have agood sled to ride. He wouldn't be plowing like a John Deere.

The heck with it, snow or thin snow, we are keeping our reservation at Togwotee for next week - at least we will be riding! We will be leaving on the 26th at 3:00 a.m. to get out there for a late cocktail and get our gear situated. Maybe ride the Leighty area on Tuesday. Will try to post a few pics.

Rumour has it that Lava Mtn. lodge is running a motel room special for $88 per night until Jan 15th. They have fantastic food in the restaurant and gas is on site along with a small store. You can ride from there to trails and off trail very easily.

Depending on where the snow falls in the next week I might be heading to Lava Mtn. Lodge. We are going Jan. 1st-8th and besides picking up a sled in West Yellowstone on the 2nd we don't have any set place to head to. Kinda nice to set up a trip on the drive out for once. I don't think finding a room will be too hard right now.

Today we rode with Brent and hit the Grouse Mountain and back side of Dry Lake area. In all honesty, the snow was better than we were expecting. The snow is like sugar, as it is old. But, we found areas where we had powder to the front bumper and we could get some nice carves in. But you have to work for it and you will ride over down logs. They are calling for a lot of snow in the next couple days. 8 total sleds in our group today and no damage :)

Bent, our group is behind that truck. We have the Top Cap trailer you can see.

Iowa, had breakfast with Al and Gregg this morning. The cat no longer has a working chain case so he is riding a Polaris rental. He did say that it actually isn't too bad for a stock sled.

Only plug in is In the main lot, is on the Front sign, we plug into that while there, others are outside each cabin, but getting a truck trailer there is tough/limited room. Most guys bring the genny if their stuck in the center of the main lot, or park down behind the cabins.

So I guess my 24 ft car trailer wont fit there. Damn genny is to loud, but well get by.

It is snowing hard now and we have about 2 inches new snow at the lodge. Our group is very happy that we made the drive out here as we are having a blast. Here are a couple of photos from today.

All the cabins have a 110v. outlet on the front porch by the picnic table. bring a 50' 12 gaugeextension cord and you will be good by the cabins. There are 4 place trailers parked down there all the time. You can also unhook the trailer in the back lot and get the truck closer to the cabin that way.

Sorry I missed updates the last couple days but the Internet service at Tog was down and I could't post. Day 3 we rode Lost Lake after receiving about 6 to 8 inches of snow at the lodge. The great news was that there was a solid 15+ inches at Lost Lake. We measured the snow accumulation in several spots. There were spots where more snow had blown in and other spots where it was thinner because the wind took it away. This snow was full of moisture and would set up hard as a rock immediately after getting stuck in in. With this new snow, obstacles get covered and today one sled lost a lower A-arm due to a hidden rock. Today I got to ride a Polaris Pro RMK Turbo as well. You'll run out of talent before horsepower - nuff said.

Day 4 we went to Sublette area and worked our way cross-country back to the Lodge. We had received about another 2 inches of snow at the lodge but there was more to be found up top, more like 4 to 6 inches. That snow on top of the previous days snow made for some great carving. Here is a photo of Tim_h taking a break. This was a pretty regular scene the entire day.

Thanks to Brent for showing us around to some great snow all week.
