Many ways to skin a cat but I went with a Garmin Nuvi 40. I then loaded it with maps bought from Red Pine Mapping. So far it looks great. The Garmin is not water proof by itself so I purchased the aqua box and handle bar mount kit from Ram to protect it. You will need a 12v power source on the sled as the cold kills the battery life.

I'm running a Garmin Oregon 550, it's water proof and very reliable. I use it for other things as well. Red Pine is the place for accurate maps. If you search you can find free maps online that are some what accurate. Either way, make sure you get a solid mount for it... Garmin has several for various units. Also, I don't rely on batteries, run a 12 volt outlet and you will be good to go.
