Just a caution to everyone riding on lake gogebic. There is a large ice heave in front of gogebic lodge. Be sure to slow down in that area.

Could just put a left and right turn ahead sign on both sides of it pointing to the middle? kinda like a " hay look down " need to do something with all the extra signs up there ;)

The Sea and Snow in my sled would let me fly right over it!Ha!
Is riding the lake considered boondocking? lol..

It is ok to put a sign right on it, but "Heave Ahead" sign is not allowed.

Do you think you would " heave after " if you hit it?

Only if they mark it with the Hurley dancing girls then heave after for sure!

Yep I would be out riding today if even 1/2 way decent conditions to beat the weekend traffic. Talking up to 55mph winds on Rhinelander TV NBC on Sunday saying heavy LES in Vilas. If high speed north winds kick in it could bring LES way inland after Clipper. I'm hoping!!!!!!!!!:)

I'm on Spectacle Lake so LES does come this far & seems to stop mile or 2 north of Route 70. Nothing like Twin Lakes but 3-5 inches a week helps trails a lot. Last year Phelps 99" Eagle River 72" so big difference over the season.

Polar Bear - Thanks for starting this thread and the ice heave info. Everyone be careful it is a dangerous lake with heaves that come and go, piers and other obstacles, and possible open water / thin ice.
