a renegade front end is 3 inches wider than a summit, and uses same shocks.
i will be in clam lake 21st and 22nd.leaving today.

So the shock length on a renegade and a 121 short track and a summit are all the same

REason I ask is because they are going on an original 121 which still has it standard front end?

Yes they fit and hold front end higher (more off trail clearance)

Renegade and Shorty shocks are 17.375". Backcountry and Summits are 17". NEW 2011-12 summits are 16.5. If you are putting the summit front end on a shorty, you can use the shorty shocks, but the geometry will not be correct. Best to get then shocks rebuilt and add a .375 spacer to make them 17"

salmonun thanks but you will be happier with the longer shocks(more clearance and more stroke)
same with 42.5" front ends 18" to 18.5" shocks from race set-ups are great improvements!
if you want front lower for cornering(do that with sping rate)
