John Deeres answer to the RZR?

A friend of mine works for a John Deere dealer. He told me that Deere is releasing something this summer to compete with the RZR. Has anyone heard this or seen some sneak pictures? I like the idea.

The all new 2012 John Deere Gator is out and looks to have more performance in mind!

While the RSX 850i is definitely the more sports oriented machine, the good folks at Deere also released a smaller more utility XUV 550. From what we hear the XUV 550 is a smooth riding machine and a nice lower cost machine that gets the job done.

The RSX 850i with it’s beefy 62 HP V-twin 4 cylinder gasoline engine knocks off 0-30 times in the 3 second range. This machine tops out at 53 MPH and is the first RUV powered by a motorcycle engine!

why not, they use to make some pretty fast sleds in the days. good to see competition from the americans

I was interested in their 4 seat UTV that is similar to the Polaris Ranger 500 Crew but then saw the top speed is only 28 mph vs the Ranger that gets up to 45... 28 might be fast enough for many trails in the UP but when you are on some of the grades I know I would be looking for more.

The 550 has a junk briggs motor in it and the 850 is supposedly built by can am I was told.
