Nash, gray or grey?
10-01-2009, 10:24 AM
I was getting tired of digging out my 2 book Britannica dictionary especially anything starting with the letter P which appears in Part I and Part II.

"Gnashing" yer teath are ya? http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/happy.gif
<font color="0000ff">fcat700: … "gray or grey?"</font>
They're pretty much alternate spellings, but generally grey is more accurately British English, and gray is American English. (Kinda like colour and color.) See the Online Etymology Dictionary (http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=gray).

Here's another versatile option: OneLook® Dictionary Search (http://www.onelook.com/).
To paraphrase Mark Twain (1897): "The report of my death [by heart attack on August 5th] is an exaggeration." And I just saw the Medicare (Part B) claim(s) for my "resurrection", total "Amount Charged" (hospital + nine doctors, etc. <font color="ff0000">[not "ect"!]</font>): $193,521.65 http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/happy.gif

Not quite yet, canon, my cardiologist wants me back for a 'nuther round of heart catheterization, balloon angioplasty and probably a few more stents. In the circumflex artery and its branches this time. (The last time it was the left anterior descending artery.)
I'll save the quad bypass as a possible later "ace in the hole".
I'm beginning to feel like dat "Six Million Dollar Man" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Six_Million_Dollar_Man) http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/happy.gif

but you're too nice a feller to do that to.
But ya jes' keep layin' these temptations on me! http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/happy.gif
As to the blast furnace, Oh frabjus joy, fall is finally here. The forecast high temperatures for the next ten days or so are only in the high 80s to low 90s, with the morning lows generally in the mid 60s. The low thie morning in my back yard was 55.9°F! Hoooray!

Back to finish up my answer to <font color="0000ff">polarisrider1</font>'s earlier question:
<font color="0000ff">"How's the ticker?"</font>
I just had a follow up appointment with my cardiologist yesterday.
The EKG exam showed … Normal EKG!
The doctor said: "From that, you'd never know you had a heart attack, never mind a cardiac arrest!"<hr width=75% size=2>It certainly was interesting reading the various doctors' reports of the herculean efforts in the ER (On August 5th) from the resuscitation through the catheterization, thrombectomy, atherectomy, balloon angioplasty and stent emplacement, including the chemically induced coma (using the same drug Propofol that killed Michael Jackson!) and hypothermia protocol (lowering body temperature to just above 33°F both of which were to prevent or minimize any brain damage due to decreased oxygenation.) So I wouldn't lose my built-in automatic spell check ability, eh? http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/happy.gif
What a ride! Although since I was unconscious for that procedure, I wish I had the videotape/DVD, that would be better than the current crop of medical shows on TV!
Now back to the hospital next week for another heart catheterization, and one or two more stents, this time in the the left circumflex artery and obtuse marginal branch. It should be a fairly trivial exercise this time, just a bit more difficult navigating through the various arterial branches to this target site. Probably two days in the hospital at most.
10-07-2009, 05:50 PM
I wish you well!
10-07-2009, 06:58 PM
Holy crap Nash....Hope the next procedure go well and glad to here things are going good with the ticker!
10-07-2009, 07:20 PM
I can tell you that I watched that operation on my mother who is still eating chocolate brownies, and she went home the same day. Onlyist thing is that she needs to be on that anti-clotting drug for a long time....plavix, or some such....anyways, they augured her line out blew a balloon or two, cause the crusty old gal had some pretty tough stuff in there, eh? And now she's eat'n brownies and chocolate pinwheels again. I told her she was shortening the wait for my inheredence...but she says look who's talking riding snowmobiles, and motorcyles.<font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font>'ll be a race to see who cashes in first....suspect the old lady will live to see me spent before I see any of her money.
Point is Nash....spell checker or not....you'll be back harassing the poor spellers on here in no time...and surely by the end of the week.
10-07-2009, 07:25 PM
I wish you the best Nash. I prayin four ya wheather u like it or not.
