View Full Version : Vikings lose!
10-25-2009, 04:26 PM
They were not going to win them all. Today hurts, my brother-in-law is a Steelers fan!Better a loss today rather than next week against the Cheese Heads!
10-25-2009, 04:46 PM
lol, heck ya Steelers...
You most likely never win a game with two picks for TD's in the 4th.
10-25-2009, 04:48 PM
They played a good game. but the refs lost it for the vikes on that b.s tripping call.
10-25-2009, 04:58 PM
The refs did not loose it, Favre's rock throwing did. Get used to it, he does this a lot.
10-25-2009, 05:17 PM
As a Viking fan, we have nothing to be ashamed of! We outplayed them but lost it ourselves at the end. We have won 2 games this year with some luck and today it went the other way for us. That's how it goes in the NFL. One thing we proved today, we can play with anyone and we are one of the best teams in the league.
There was only 1 interception (not Favre's fault)at the end and Brett had good stats today. Think of all the dropped passes too and his numbers would have been off the charts! Any of you guys know who the #1 rated quarterback is in the red zone?
Did you guys see AP run that dback over? Man that guy wanted nothing to do with him. He's a beast, that's for sure!
10-25-2009, 06:12 PM
best teams in the league , lmao . its the usual time to start the minnesota meltdown . they did try to blow it 2 other games but today they finally got it right.get used to it it will be the same thing they do every year.favre never could and never will perform under pressure. i always liked him and still do but we got probably the 3rd or 4th best qb in the league , NOW.
are you kidding me I see pwolfy you live in WI so I assume U mean GB has the 3rd or 4th best QB what are you smoking?I have been watching 4 for years what in the are you talking about he cant play under pressure.he has been cool under the gun on most end of game nail biters I have seen.but I think with AP you can prob get any high school QB and do well
10-25-2009, 07:11 PM
lmao at pwolfy! Both sides had meltdowns my bro. Just so happened that the advantage fell to the Steelers. That was a great game all around and could have gone either way. In the end, things did not go our way, but that's football. I'm convinced that this team can play with the best of them this year. How do ya think the pack would have done at Pitts? Can't wait till next weekend. Should be a fun game, with alot of good jaw jacking on here! haha.
10-25-2009, 07:15 PM
BEARS lose big time also.lmao
10-25-2009, 07:30 PM
Ha...... Welcome back to reality ViQueens. Another dose of reality will be delivered in a week. On the other hand. I would have liked to see Favre & the Queens undefeated for next weeks game. Can't win 'em all.
10-25-2009, 07:40 PM
Here we go again with all the Farve bashings! Ubee, put up your beating a dead horse animation again!
10-25-2009, 07:55 PM
Ya you vikings better watch out! Da pack just gave a whooping to da last two teams dey played big time. I tink between da 2 of dem dey won like tree games since the merger eh?
10-25-2009, 07:59 PM
yeah the refs did give it away vikes should have won.
GO VIKINGS!<font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font>
10-25-2009, 08:07 PM
Refs are human and do make mistakes. Can't totaly blame them for the loss. It should not come down to bad calls! The offense needs to score more points then the defense allows. A few less dropped balls and the bad calls would be a non issue. 6-1 going to G.B not bad at all!The Vikes are still leading and will win the Central Div.! I like their chances for going deep into the playoffs this year!
10-25-2009, 08:12 PM
I should say the Vikes are still leading and will win the NFC North not Central Division.
10-25-2009, 09:06 PM
They have a forsure win next week so take the good with the bad.
10-25-2009, 09:08 PM
Lose? Oh please, we let them win. We thought we should balance the playing field a bit.
10-25-2009, 09:20 PM
All I can say is HERE WE GO STEELER"S HERE WE GO GOD LOVE THE GOLD AND BLACK SUPER BOWL CHAMPS TO AND GUNNING FOR MORE !! YAHOO!! THINK SNOW !!
Great Game!! the only reason the Steelers won was because they scored more points than the Vikings ,LMFAO!!!
10-25-2009, 10:50 PM
Oh, we scored the points, but they just didn't put them on the board. Good game purple and gold, good game.
10-26-2009, 12:10 AM
GO VIKES!!sweet game....and I agree with you catalac..
10-26-2009, 08:49 AM
I gotta be honest, I wanted the Steelers to win but it's a bummer that the turn overs for TD's will go against Favre because he threw some great passes but man the Steelers hit hard! I hate the Vikings but it sure is fun watching Favre and Peterson. I wonder how #22 Gay is feeling today after getting LIT UP by the Peterson Express!?!
Did I mention the Packers won:-)
10-26-2009, 10:36 AM
How could we not help but notice the Packers won, it was on three channels up here on Charter Cable (11, 24 & 306). You, me and 9 other guys could beat the Browns, what a lousy game to put on ahead of the Vikings & Pittsburg. I called and cancelled my subscription today what a bunch of idiots.
10-26-2009, 10:37 AM
Not so fast Thunderstuck! There is a new sheriff in town. Cincinnati is in first I believe. My buddys who are pitt fans just laugh but they are a little worried I think
Does anyone know how many games you get with the NFL Sunday ticket? That might be the way to go Marty.
10-26-2009, 01:24 PM
Marty I was not very impressed with Charters coverage in the Yoop, Definitly go with either Dish or Direct Tv...The NFL Sunday ticket is unbeatable on Direct TV. Dish is nice to if you dont want to spend the money on the "Sunday Ticket" from Direct Tv, as long as you have the NFL Network and NFL RedZone. Redzone is sweet it shows all the scoring plays from around the league as they are happening.
10-26-2009, 03:05 PM
God he looks gay in purple. He's going to burn out soon.
Pittsburgh is not an elite AFC team. The Vikes are not an elite NFC team. They were well matched in an entertaining game. Neither would stand a chance against the Saints or Indy. Not enough firepower to keep up.
somebody else lost too! http://www.johndee.com/discuss/messages/58069/117943.jpg
10-26-2009, 03:33 PM
<font color="0000ff">On Any Given Sunday, . . . . . .</font>
10-26-2009, 03:37 PM
I guess if we are going to talk about looking Gay
Bears get upended Big time 45-10 http://www.johndee.com/discuss/messages/58069/117955.jpg
A loss at this point in the season is probably the best thing to happen to the Vikes. Now they can refocus, beat up on the Pack, and go into the bye week 7-1, with a 2 game lead in the division. It will be a very memorable game, so Minnesotans, set your tivo or dvr, and Wisconsinites, fire up your beta recorders, and save it for posterity.
10-26-2009, 06:14 PM
I wouldn't call the Saints an elite NFC team either. They barely beat a 2-4 team yesterday that was playing without their starting quarterback. The Vikes would be favored at home against the Saints and underdogs on the road.
I AGREE REDZONE IS KICK***
10-27-2009, 07:57 AM
You get all the games with DirectTV's Sunday Ticket. It aint cheap, I think $399 but they bill you over six months so it isn't bad. Well worth it to me as I have been able to watch at least one good game every week.
mspease, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the Saints. If they aren't one of the elite teams in the NFL right now then there arent any. They came back from being down big against a 2-4 team that is much better than there record shows. That's a tough division to be in. Saints are a powerhouse this year. As if there offense isn't high powered enough there defense is creating turnovers and returning them for TD's and they appear to a healthy team.
10-27-2009, 09:23 AM
I agree, there aren't any elite teams in the NFL right now. To give up 34 points to the Dolphins, with their second string quarteback starting the game, is not an elite team.
10-27-2009, 09:57 AM
No team is an elite team, until the Superbowl.
With that said, there are 3 undefeated teams left, Denver, New Orleans, and Indianapolis. They would have to be considered the head of the elite class right now, no matter how they won, they are undefeated. We all know, it's nearly impossible (Only happened once) to go an entire season without a loss.
10-27-2009, 10:00 AM
Vike fans... if you come to Green Bay for the game, take the time to visit the Packer hall of fame. In it you will see many NFL greats that played for the Pack. Someday 4 will be there too. You will also see where we display our Super Bowl trophies. Where does your team display theirs?.............Oh thats right, YOU DONT HAVE ANY!........... GO PACK!!!!
10-27-2009, 10:28 AM
OUCH! That should silence the Vikes crowd!!
10-27-2009, 11:33 AM
You cheeseheads seem a little edgy. Is it because if you lose Sunday your season is pretty much over? Keep living in the past. I'm sure all that great history will help you now and in the future.
10-27-2009, 12:28 PM
<font color="0000ff">Ouch! I was biting my tongue, trying to stay silent, . . . . .</font>
<font color="0000ff">This is better than reading the comics!</font>
<font color="0000ff">As a FOOTBALL Fan, GIVE IT UP with all the "living in the past" crap. Without the PAST, you wouldn't HAVE the future (the present). Vikings ALSO have had a GREAT past. I LOVED watching the Purple people eaters, Fran the Man, Bud Grant, Ect. The dominant games played in Minnesota OUTDOORS!</font>
<font color="0000ff">Of course We Wisconsinites are PROUD of the TRADITION the Packers organization has produced. You would be too.</font>
<font color="0000ff">You Have Skyscrapers, Glitz, A Theme Park in the Worlds Largest MALL!</font>
<font color="0000ff">Green Bay is smaller than some of your suburbs! THAT is what makes it so cool. I've Never met a Vikings Fan IN PERSON that I didn't have a Great time with. It is the closet "typers" that are such a riot here.</font>
<font color="0000ff">How many NFL stadiums have a lot you been too? Experienced the Games in?</font>
<font color="0000ff">Lambeau is Awesome. College-Like, and yes, you can FEEL the HISTORY and the mystique of being a Historic Meaningful Franchise. Live in the past. Not really. Proud of the FACTS, . . . . SCOREBOARD!</font>
<font color="0000ff">Now, to be a jerk, The fact that This years Packers ARE one if not THE youngest team in the NFL, Yet, . . . . Have looked better (so far) and outscored the SAME common opponents they AND the Vikings have faced, and if not for the YOUNG mistakes 3TIMES in the REDZONE, the Vikings would NOT have won the first game. 8 sacks, 20 sacks, whatever. I hope it is Very close game, Clean game, and of course I hope the Packers Even this years series. But GET REAL if you think the Vikings can be crowned ANYTHING this early. Geez.</font>
<font color="0000ff">Yes, we have wacky face painted, Cheesehead wearing, assorted passionate fans, just as YOU have an overweight long bearded sword carrying dude wearing a Dan Akroyd/Jane Curtain Dome with Horns on it Pumping up a Noisy crowd with Just as many face painted, Helga-hair horned hat passionate fans. That is what is cool about US mid-westerners. That is a GOOD thing.</font>
<font color="0000ff">Have you ever tailgated in SanFrancisco? Oh Boy. Excuse me, please pass the Wine and Lobster, . . . . .</font>
<font color="0000ff">Watch for me on TV this weekend, Tailgating WITH great Viking Fans, In my Aaron Rodgers Jersey with My GREEN Brett Favre Hat on. We'll ALL be getting along just fine. And yes, . . . . VISIT the Packers Hall of Fame. No matter WHAT team you root for, you will be overcome with AWE. PERIOD! It not only celebrates over 90 years of Packers GLORY, but a GREAT NFL History. Then, be a good sport and root for YOUR team. But don't be a M o r o n.</font>
<font color="0000ff">It is Very HIGH PAID Atheletes perfoming assignments professionally for ENTERTAINMENT purposes, in front of Passionate Fans In 16 Cities Every Weekend. Some of these people have saved for a long time to get just ONE chance to see their favorite team. Passionate, U-betcha! http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/proud.gif</font>
<font color="0000ff">Lose Sunday and our season is pretty much over? Are You drunk? that is a good one.</font>
<font color="0000ff">Hate Ted and Mike? Give it a rest. They field a competitive team Every Year. There can only be ONE Super Bowl Champ each year. Pick on Brett? Why not. It's Fun. 7 years or so (after he FINALLY makes it for real) The Day he is entering the Hall Of Fame (as a Packer) and has his name placed on the ring around the stadium, and has a Tearful jersey retirement ceremony, ALL football fans will be grateful for ALL he has brought to the game No Matter WHAT team he threw TD's and Interceptions for.</font>
<font color="0000ff">Wow, Now I feel better. Ribbing is fun, being a doof, well, enough said. Cheese and Spam actually go together quite nicely!</font>
<font color="0000ff">Come on over, I'll buy ya a Cold beer MADE IN MILWAUKEE. http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/proud.gif</font>
<font color="0000ff">NFL in Europe? YIKES.</font>
<font color="0000ff">GO USA!</font>
10-27-2009, 12:29 PM
I just like to drink beer an watch football. Not sure why people get so fired up over the whole media drivin farve saga? or the politics of it all? I like to watch a game and forget about life for 3 hours.
10-27-2009, 01:06 PM
"GO PACK GO"
All the people out there that take sports more serious that their real lives need help. It should never be more than fun ribbing. I've had fun with Bear fans at Lambeau and northern Wis. All just good fun poking on each other. I live 7 miles from Lambeau and it's a hoot drinking with fans of other teams before and after the games.
This Sunday is going to be nuts with a 3:15 start time.
Oh yeah, "The Bears Still Suck The Vikings"
10-27-2009, 03:19 PM
Well said bigvin, we must remember it is a game and when it is over we all go home to our families and the real world. It is fun to poke at each other in a sporting way, but we must remember to not cross the line into the moron type insults that too many fans seem to do nowadays. I, too have many friends that root for other teams and I live for the days of the good natured pokes between us......then we have a beer and do it all over again. GO PACK, BEAT THE VIKES!
It will be interesting to see if the Pack has their O-line patched up enough to keep Allen out. Last weekend wasn't much of a test. Also the Pack will be without Finley who hurt the Vikes badly the first time out. Rodgers is very good and given time could do great damage. For some reason Grant does not look like he did last year. Both QBs could throw for 300. Should be very entertaining for fans of both teams.
10-27-2009, 08:01 PM
Standing and applauding BigVin! Well said brother, well said.
10-27-2009, 10:08 PM
Great job BigVIn! Can't wait to tailgate Sunday its going to be wild and fun. GO PACK
Well since I started this post I figure it was time for me to add another .02....well said BigVin....I too have sat amongst mixed crowds in Bloomington (yes the old Met stadium, although I was a lot younger I do still remember), MPLS, Green Bay and Chicago....and by far Lambeau is the greatest place to be on any given Sunday. I would love to have season tickets there but a couple of things prevent that:The cost, the drive from MN and I dont think I will live long enough to see my name make it to the top of the list.
Win or lose I will always be a Packer fan not jumping on / off the wagon depending on their record.
10-28-2009, 12:28 PM
You guys can take this thread anwhere you please, but let's not forget one simple fact:
Like music to my ears...
10-30-2009, 02:13 PM
ezra and doospunk..did you hear who was the offensive player of the month? 143.9 qb rating, not #4 it was #12 so no im not smoking anything , just stating the facts. rodgers was definately the better choice for gb. imagine his numbers if he would have an offensive line.
10-30-2009, 02:30 PM
LOL fun stuff....
I should get some cheese curds for the game!!!
10-30-2009, 02:52 PM
And some Lienies!
I'll actually be watching the game with the Captain.
"GO PACK GO"
10-30-2009, 02:53 PM
On the other hand.....look at who was nfc defensive player of the month? Darren Sharper! And he's still relevant and playing at a high level, but GB saw fit to get rid of him too. Just Sayin'! Funny he ended up in Minnesnowta too, only to go to the Saints.
10-30-2009, 03:55 PM
The Packers didn't get rid of Sharper or Longwell. The Packers weren't going to pay what others were offering. Their is no alliegence with these players in the NFL, but to them selves. They go where the cash is higher. The majority come in, do their job and after the season is over. They are off to their real homes. Farvara was the first to leave town while the other players cleared lockers the next day. As for Sharper if you watch him he never tackles anyone. He trys to just get in the way to slow the player down. It's an entertainment business that we love to go goofy over.
"GO PACK GO"
10-30-2009, 04:07 PM
Tool, that isn't totally true. Although, you're right they weren't gonna pay him the money they thought or didnt think he was worth and it didn't seem to be negotiable, so in essence they DID let him go, in turn releasing him.
Touche on the rest of your post.
So, who all is going to be at the game this weekend?
I'm going to be sitting high in a luxury box enjoying the game. Can't wait. Haven't been to a game there since before my son was born and he's 7 now.
10-30-2009, 07:03 PM
Will be at the game also sitting in the same area in my # 80 Jersey, a person gets spoiled sitting up there. going early to get some tailgating in.
11-01-2009, 07:22 PM
11-01-2009, 08:53 PM
Yea for da VIKES!!!
11-01-2009, 09:06 PM
Man, the silence from the Packer fans is deafening! http://www.johndee.com/discuss/clipart/sad.gif
11-01-2009, 09:14 PM
We are still drinking beer and eating cheese curds.<font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font><font color="ff0000"></font> the game over yet?
Lose? Oh please, we let them win. Isn't that what we are supposed to say kevisip?...we didn't want Brent or what's his name to have another tearful breakdown on national tv.
All kidding aside I was a fan of the #4 but just cant wait for the Vikings to crumble big and again have nothing to put in their trophy case.
11-02-2009, 06:30 AM
It could happen PITT, but at least it will be entertaining.
Last night was a good game, but I thought it would have been more tight.
A win is a win, and we will take the win.
GO VIKES, GO FARV!
11-02-2009, 10:49 AM
Being a Packer Fan and eating "Crow" doesnt taste all that great this morning.
As for the "Booooooing" by the fans, I found it, classless. The guy gave his heart, soul and body to GreenBay for 16yrs. Put GB back on the map(as far as football).
The ViQueens as a team should be heckled, booed etc. everytime they take the field at Lambeau! I hate 'em, cant stand the site of their jersey, helmets, anything about them. Thats football and part of the rivalry.( Every opposing team should get the same treatment for that matter).
But dont booo "the man", direct it at the whole team.
The NFL is a business/free-market(unless Obama takes that over too): The guy can play wherever he wants. Cheer the fact that he's 40, but plays like he's 20 and he loves the game.
Pains me to say this, but: The better team won yesterday.
11-02-2009, 03:36 PM
Right on soopy!!!
not sure if any pack fans seen the interview with Brett after the game? He said he has alot love for the GB fans!!!NOW THATs CLASS MY FRIENDS!!CLASS
11-02-2009, 04:03 PM
It wasn't so much that it was classless, I mean, anybody that goes to their arch rival should expect that. I think the smirk on his face was "Yeah, I expected this". Now, if they had thrown something at him, that would be classless.
My favorite part of the game was how quiet it got at the end!
