Just checking in. I haven&#39;t been on here for a while, mostly because my life has been pretty boring lately. The one good thing about today is that it&#39;s Friday for me. Because I had to use up my vacation or lose it, I have off at least one day a week until Christmas. Yippee!

The only other thing going on is that I finally received the stationary bike I ordered. I need to keep up with the knee rehab and a bike seemed like the best route. I used it this morning and it kicked my butt!

GREAT news Jeff! How are classes going?

I&#39;ve finally got this math thing figured out enough to actually DO the homework! Will miss class on Tuesday for Dustin&#39;s concert - so I need to be prepared to take TWO tests on the following Tuesday! TWO TESTS!

Scoop - glad to hear that your knee is doing better! I need to get on a stationary bike… sitting here on my butt in front of this computer doing homework and job searching is giving me a really big problem!

Dylan has to have a procedure done on his toes on December 10th. He&#39;s had some really bad infections in his toes over the past year and this last one we can&#39;t get to go away. Apparently ingrown toe nails are hereditary - Jim has them all the time - so the doc said that it would be a good idea to do the permanent procedure for Dylan on both toes. Dylan is a little freaked out about it… but the doc said he will be knocked out and won&#39;t feel a thing. GOD PLEASE get him through this with as little pain as possible!

Nothing new on the job front. Back to square one. No interviews in the hopper. I&#39;m still waiting on stuff that the recruiters are submitting me to, but I&#39;m not holding my breath. Jim is still chasing the almighty dollar as well… I really wish I knew what will happen next… these surprises and all this drama are not good for my mood.

I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving! My &#39;rents are coming! They will be here Wednesday afternoon until Friday morning. Which is right inside the 48 hour rule. So we are GOOOOOD! The kids are being so helpful in getting the house ready for the Queen Mother to arrive! She is a clean freak… she will make a comment if there is a dog hair in the corner on the floor. One time I left a huge hair ball &#40;purposely made&#41; in the corner of the kitchen floor… I could see it tormenting her! Then while I was out of the room she cleaned it up! BAHAHAHH!!

DOH! It&#39;s Monday... how the heck did that happen!

The Queen Mother arrives Wednesday afternoon... this house is in GREAT SHAPE now. I am a goofball... I create MORE MESS when I&#39;m cleaning. BUT through all that I dejunkified quite a bit AND organized a LOT! So it&#39;s all good.

The boys have been really REALLY good helpers! Very proud of them.

I&#39;ve been coughing up dust balls since yesterday. I hope it&#39;s not a cold and just my allergies going nuts from all the dust. Apparently the Mr. and Mrs. Dust Bunny were at it again!!

I am sooooo excited for Thanksgiving. So much to be Thankful for!

go to the search bar in the top right corner of facebook, type in a name, and click the magnifying glass, then you will have to scroll down all the people with that name and click on the one you want. most of us are in the group fans of johndee, you can click on people who have joined the group.

Facebook is fun and I&#39;ve gotten back in touch with a lot of friends from previous jobs, from high school and I can keep tabs on my family. So I love Facebook!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. The whole weekend was busy for me and went by fast.

I am on Facebook but I don&#39;t post much, mostly because not much is going on in my life. I also check here as well. It&#39;s actually easier to check here since you have to log in on Facebook. I guess I&#39;m too lazy to go that extra step sometimes. I do have to say that I have also gotten back in touch with people through Facebook that I haven&#39;t seen nor heard from in years. In fact, the past two times I went down to Chicago I met up with my friend from high school that stood up to my wedding. I lost track of her when she got divorced and then I moved to the UP so she couldn&#39;t contact me. I hadnt&#39; seen or heard from her in 20 years. Her sister found me on Facebook. Very cool.

I put up the Christmas tree last night. Now I have to decorate it and put out all the other decorations. Now all we need is snow to make it feel like it is the Christmas season.

Hey Nate! I didn't see your post about Kira... glad to hear all went well!

Dylan will be having minor surgery in his feet on the 10th. The doc said "we'll put you to sleep" and Dylan said "NO WAY! Juneau died when they put him to sleep!" I nearly fell outta my chair. We now say that he will be heavily sedated.

Then - on December 12th both boys will be taking their snowmobile safety course! It's an 8 hour class and if there is measureable snow they will have a driving test as well. Dustin wanted to bring Revegade… Nope… they provide the sleds for the driving test. OMG… I can just see Dustin hauling arse across the driving course on Revegade!

Dustin's birthday is tomorrow - he's 11 years old. Hard to believe that my boys are growing up so fast! My friend Valerie is making him a Winter Wonderland Cake. She has started a new business that includes making specialty cakes. So if anyone here in the Twin Cities needs specialty cakes, I will get you connected to Val!

Better get back to my homework! I want to get done with this math stuff fast!

I think I'm here. I had to jump through some hoops, but I made it. This will take some getting used to.

There are a few flurries floating here--it's nice to see. I had my last physical therapy appointment today. I am completely on my own now. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and that will probably be a final appointment as well. I have been cleared to do some light jogging. That should be fun should I decide to run! I may try it just to see how the knee feels when jogging. I don't think it will feel great, that's for sure.

Nate - good to hear that Kira is doing well after surgery.

I guess I should get back to work. I took a vacation day tomorrow and it's going to be a busy day off.

Hey Vinnie... you gotta go to your profile and change the timezone... then it will show your current time. It's under the User CP up there on the blue menu bar.

Under Settings and Options, EDIT OPTIONS... then scroll down and you will see where to choose the time zone.

Then I'm taking him to Olive Garden for soup and salad and breadsticks lunch - his favorite! Well my problem seems to be with Internet Explorer powered by Yahoo, now I'm using Firefox and its working, I had to do some changing as you guy's can see, for I while there I thought I was kicked out for good.

Went to the Doc on Thur. I don't have to be in the sling anymore, I'm off for the month of Dec. and I'm looking at going back on Jan. 4th if all goes well. The Doc says everything looks good, he's says my rotator cuff has a good spot weld (so to speak) and will be fully healed by the middle of Jan. I start going back to PT on Monday. I'm still hoping he will let me ride by Feb. keep your fingers crossed

Today is the big dinner for Dustin day! He's excited about his BBQ Rib dinner. We got all our food shopping done last night and I am started to braise the ribs this morning. To get them in the crock pot for a slow cook! He is a BBQ NUT!

Bradzoooo, well I did have an invite to stay at John's this weekend, BUT, my wife had her work Christmas party last night, so, I had to go to that instead of busting through a foot or more of snow. Lucky me eh? Sometimes a husband has to do the right thing though, to insure the rest of the season is not interrupted. :)

I will make sure and post up pics of every ride, maybe some vids, so you can see what you are missing. :) Hope you heal up quick, and winter kicks in to high gear when you are able to ride again!

Well, I am supposed to be in a 8-12" band of snow. We'll see. I think it will fizzle out like so many other storms. I hope I'm wrong. I love snow. My snowblower started on the second pull which is impressive considering it is 23 years old. I'm ready. Bring it on!

I had a busy weekend which included dropping my sled off for a pre-season work-up. I wish I had the mechanical know-how, but I am stuck with having someone else look at it. The best part is my sled started with the first push of the electric start. I also had my trailer tire fixed on Friday because it had a slow leak. I should be ready to ride soon. Hopefully I will be able to and will be able to find some money somewhere to go riding.

On another note, it's Monday. Ugh!

It didn't go too bad Kaboolie shoulder is stiff tonite gonna do the ice and heat thing to try and loosen it up they are basically just stretching it now, have to go on Mon, Wed, Fri from now till the end of the year except for Christmas and New Years.

On a brighter note I did get mine and Kelly's sled's started today but now I think I'm gonna have to have surgery on my left shoulder (just kidding)HAHAHA but it was good to smell the 2 stroke again

BUT... if I don't have time, the prof will be holding a class on Saturday - so I could take it then and be DONE WITH MATH! So far, I am still holding my 4.0 - I am so happy that I'm keeping the grade. It's busting my arse, but since I don't have a job... it's the only thing that's keeping me busy!

We are still supposed to get hit tonight with a bunch of snow late tonight into tomorrow. We'll see. I'm still skeptical. I hope is snows a ton just because I love snow. The people at work think I'm nuts. It has been snowing very lightly all day. It's nice to see the ground covered in the white stuff.

I went to the doctor last Friday for a progress appointment on my knee. It is doing great and he does not see a problem with me riding a snowmobile. That was news I wanted to hear. I also can start jogging lightly, but I will pass on that, especially with the ice and snow that is on the streets now.

K-boo - Wow, Iron Mountain is tempting. I won't be picking up my sled until Friday. Iron Mountain is about a 2-1/2 hour drive for me. It's very tempting. I wonder if they will get enough snow? That is the question. I understand being nervous pulling the trailer with the car. I'm still a bit nervous driving by myself pulling a trailer all over creation and I have a truck!

BigVin - Congrats on the new old truck! It sounds like an awesome find. Good job on the creative financing. I have been there and done that.

With all the snow blowing around, it was too hard to tell how much we got in the dark this morning. My driveway and sidewalk ranged from 6 " to about 2 feet. But the wind plays a big part in how it blows around my house. I'd guess maybe in the 8-12" range. Maybe I should turn on a radio and check it out.

We got what I would say is a foot of new snow in GB. Supposed to continue until 5 pm with blizzard conditions until noon. Started as the wet sticky stuff then lighter on the top. Took me about 1.5 hours to do the driveway with the blower this morning and to shovel a path for our wimpy little dog, Doofus.(Do Yorkies really count as dogs?)

Temps are supposed to be subzero tonight and wind chills remaining below zero most, if not all, of the day tomorrow. I think Winter has arrived....

Trails don't open in WI until 12/15 with a few exceptions as far as I know so maybe a midweek run next week.

Well, I am the only one here at work. The district secretary told everyone to stay home because it took her 10 tries to get into the parking lot because it was plowed in. I have a full size truck so I figured it would be no problem. The plow service, however, broke through the plowed barrier to the parking lot so it was all good. I am guessing we have a least a foot of snow with a lot of drifting. Very cool!

The morning was interesting. It took me almost 1-1/2 hours to clear my drive. Then I walk in the house and my cats are in my dining room staring at my computer backpack. Uh oh, not good. I move it and a mouse runs out and they go chasing it. It is now in my kitchen somewhere. I don't know if the cats brought it upstairs from the basement or if it found it's way to the upstairs by itself.

Work is super busy which is the only reason I bothered to come in.

K-boo - That is tempting to go ride in Iron Mountain, but I may pass. I need to get some stuff done this weekend.

I must get back to work so I can get out of here and enjoy my vacation days tomorrow and Friday.

Dylan's surgery went well! He's home resting comfortably! His feet are elevated and he has ice packs on his ankles!

All went well until he barfed in the van on the way home... the windows were froze shut... Thank goodness we had the bag they put his shoes in!

We got there at 11 AM, he got all set up and they gave him some drugs to take the edge off... he was sooooo funny! He was totally stoned! They finally took him back at 2:30 and the doc said that he was cracking jokes about not being alseep yet and then he fell asleep mid word!

Dylan did great... glad it's over and he's home and has his feet up!

We got around 14" . On Wednesday, the power went out in the Blizzard. 5:25am.
Since our sump pump is still running about every 10 minutes or so, I wanted to make sure
the battery back-up pump worked. IT Did. So, I went out and started to blow the snow.
Very heavy wet snow. Came in around Noon. Still No power, getting nervous that the battery back up may go dead, so I head over to the folks and borrow the generator.
Your right, Thank GOD for the New 4X4! The folks street was not plowed, IT WAS DEEP!
I get the generator home, and running, and hook the cord up to the REGULAR sump pump and let that baby run for a while. Then Generator dies. Nobody has electricity in the area, so I head North 6miles to The nearest Auto parts store for some new plugs, and Heat.
By the time I get home, The electricity just goes on! Whew! Talk about the furnace running for awhile!
Got the generator running, so it is set for the next adventure. Spent all day yesterday blowing and shoveling again! All nice and cleared. Ready for the next event!
Put about 3 miles on the sled going around the yard. Man that snow is deep! It was flying over the headlights! YIPPPEEEEEEEE!
It is currently 7 below out. and I am fine with sitting at the 'puter.

Going to finish filling out the application for a Corrections Officer Position at the local County facility. Man, would THAT be sweet!

Good Friday morning! It's cold out there but beautiful with the sun shining on the snow. I am on vacation yesterday and today. I got some stuff done yesterday, mainly a dentist appointment, a new battery for my truck and some house cleaning and laundry. Today I may hibernate for a while and start doing Christmas cards. I'm not sure why I do them, but some people in my family expect them.

Bradzoo - I'm thinking that one of my cats brought the mouse upstairs since I found a piece of insulation (from the basement boxsill) in my dining room. I am glad they did not bring it into my bed! Yuck! I did find the little sucker when I got home. It was under the love seat in my living room. I moved the seat, it ran out and my cat grabbed it. He didn't kill it, though, so I grabbed a tupperware container and trapped it and I slid the lid underneath. The stupid thing is that I couldn't kill it. It was too cute. I probably killed it anyway because I opened the door and flung it into the snow. It may end up back in my house. LOL!

Julie - I'm glad Dylan's surgery went well. I know what those drugs can do! I'm sure he was funny as all heck!

BigVin - The knee is ready for ridin'! The bumps may hurt a bit, but it can't be any worse than doing squats and lunges. (O.k., no wisecracks about doing Squat!) I don't have my sled here at home. It's at Simonars. I was going to pick it up today, but they are still waiting to get a new handgrip since I had told them the heated handgrip wasn't working on one side. Their parts shipment may have been delayed by the snow because they usually would have it done by now. Hopefully I can pick up the sled tomorrow.

Well, it's time to go do my upper body workout. I was too lazy to get up early this morning to do it.

I remember when I was little, living in Iowa, during the big blizzards, the power would go out and my dad would load us all in the tractor plow thingy and drive us to the end of our dirt road where the manager of the Holiday Innl my mom worked at would pick us up and take us to the Holiday Inn! I had to use 4 wheel drive while driving Big Red... damn thing was totally squirrely during the storm… the back end kept trying to come around. Flipped her into 4wheel and all was gooooood! <o:p></o:p>

I PASSED MY MATH TEST!

I got 100% on it!! I'm still pulling a 4.0 - All A's in all my classes so far. I AM SO EXCITED!

HI to everyone who finally made it to the new board. It's a little strange out there now... but you'll get used to it!

Yes, Christmas is SOOOOOOOOO CLOSE - now that Math is over, I'm gonna concentrate on prepping for Christmas. Get the tree up ( I KNOW! I've been distracted!) Make cookies and breads. Christmas from the heart not the wallet is my motto. So the boys and I will be making fun things for our family.

I pray that we all have a very BLESSED Christmas and New Year!!!

THANKS Carole! Believe it or not, the school work is keeping my busy so I don't freak out about the no job situation. My timeline is quickly coming to an end... I have to have a full time job with benefits before March... that is when my fully paid by Best Buy COBRA benefits run out. If I don't have a job by then... the price of our prescriptions alone will for sure send us into foreclosure...

So I am keeping on top of the job hunt... Jim is busting his butt trying to find work... there just isn't anything YET. Soon... soon that job will come...

recieved another inch of white gold this morning
almost done christmas shopping only 2 presents left to buy then were done.
Took the sled for a quick run around the ranch friday afternoon everything seems to be working fine just need to clean the carbs on the wifes sled & we will ready to go

The kids rode around the house and got a nice track started. They packed the rest of it down for the dog so her feet don't freeze.
