You actually can't really make it to the Mak from niles. You can if you know what you are doing or have someone trailer you around grand rapids but there is no conecting trails. Niles area will let you get down into Indiana to the south and up past Allegan and wayland to the north. Actuall you can get darn close to grand rapids to the north. And Edwardsburge and Vandalia to the East. There are places to stay up around Allegan that are close to the trail system. Then North of Grand Rapids you have all kinds of trail system from Baldwin up and that all will get u to the bridge for sure. Plenty of places to stay.

dab102999 is right you can't get to the bridge by trail from niles. If you know the back roads around grand rapids then maybe. I do wish there was an easy way around by Grand Rapids by trail. I could ride from home to the bridge and back for a week.

Not legally. The DNR trail map online is not at all acurate. the Trail system that shows the Wayland to Lowell and North trail is a chopped up mess due to housing developements. DNR has not updated in years. besides it is raining and 40 here.

Yea definatly don't come now, unless you do it on a 4 wheeler!! haha. My boy and I made it around Grand rapids last year just to see if we could. It was pretty complicated and we still had quite a ways to go to make it back to the system to the north. But I got hooked up with a friends father who lives in G.R. and he told me to give him notice and he would gladly trailer me around grand rapids and get me back to the trail. That was my plans to do a trip to the bridge this year but now I would say it is going to be pushing it for this year. After the weather today everything in Berrien county will be start over for sure....
