latex foam matress

We have a king size latex...the brand name escapes me at the moment, but it was bought at Elder Beerman. We bought the mattress after trying out everything we could find. For the first year, it was great - never slept better. After time, it started to develop roughly 3" indentations where we laid (we are not big people), even with rotating it as suggested in the manual. The indentations would not come back up or resume their original position like some "memory foam" manufacturers suggest. It started to really give me back problems again, and I had to start sleeping in another room. The company would not honor the warranty, because they said the indents had to be 4" or deeper. We're currently shopping for a new bed.

With our case, it could just be the manufacturer, but after what we spent on it, I'm reluctant to try another latex. Also, a small problem - they are hot in the summer time because they dont let your skin breathe, but a good mattress pad relieves that problem.

We have had one for 5 years now. It is made by Verlo and we use it on a ajustable bed for my bad back.It has been a dream. We have no problems with indentations and i am a big ol sob.

My parents have one....I slept on it once to try it out and I awoke so darn refreshed..it was amazing. But it was only one night. I know they paid alot for it and make sure to pay for the guys to put it where you want it cause they are very very heavy.

My wife and I had one. Personally, I could not get used to the "feel" of it. She loved it. I am bigger and didn't have any problems with the indentations - but we only slept on it for a year. Went to a more traditional mattress with a pillow top and had problems with indentations after 5 years. But the "experts" say that is how long mattresses last these days. We're now on a sleep number. The only complaint I have is that we should have bought a king instead of the queen.

Back in '05 when we were looking at new beds,...
We tried one,... (of course, me being a BIG dude,..)
I couldn't get OUT of it. Needed help. Sunck into it like
an ice cube tray. Didn't like the "not being able to move"
trapped feeling. Having a bad back,...ect.,... we tried and
then Bought a "Sleep Number" bed. (a split King adjustable)
Paid Big bucks,... but YOU CAN'T PUT A PRICETAG ON A GOOD NIGHTS
SLEEP!!!
It really does, constantly adjust to what position you are in,...
and,.. with the "adjustable",.... man,.. I can sit straight up and watch
the tube. Better than the "old folks home"!
Seriously,... take a look at these beds. It is worth the look.
Don't let the price fool ya,... You DO get what ya paid for.

Latex foam mattresses have been around for several decades. Note that "Latex foam" and Tempur-Pedic® are not the same!

These issues are typical of the earlier, traditional ("non-Tempur") latex foam mattresses!

Tempurpedic is the only way to go.. sleeping like a 15 year old again.. Have had this bed for 3 years, absolutely love love love it.
