    Default Fusion 755 Crankshaft seal

I have a 2006 Polaris fusion 700 with just over 4000 miles. I love this sled and up until now I haven't had a problem. I burned up a piston on the mag side due to the crankshaft seal going bad. The motor did not seize up it just loss power and slowly quit running. The D.E.T. sensor did not pick up any problems either. My question is how did the seal end up going out? If anyone can give their adivce it would be appreciated. It's in the shop now, they split the bottom case and cleaned out all of the pieces from the piston, replaced the seals and they said the bearings were good. I'm getting two new jugs from Millenium Technologies and a new piston kit from polaris. The only mods I had were V-Force reeds, EPI clutch kit and an MBRP silencer. Thanks

Is that a common thing with around 4000 miles. Could anything else be a factor, or maybe the primary being out of balance?

could be the clutch is going bad. my clutch wasn't in very good condition, my crank bearings went out scratched the cylinders and pushed the seal out. there can be lots of causes but a crank seal at 4000 is a lot different from a crank seal at 1000.

I just found out my Crankshaft seal is bad on 06 Switchback 600 HO. I was told that a belt blowing could damage the seal. Just a possibility.

I would be looking at my clutches being out of bal. I have a 06 with 5000+ and are fine, but between the clutch and the engine mounts i would be looking there first. Or booom crank will snap next right at the clutch.
