    Default Eagle River Championships ?

Do you remember the first time you visited the ER World Championships? What year and what was your reaction to this anual event. Remember who won the F1 SLEDS?

I don't remember what year but I know it was back in the mid-late 80's.

I went up there with my dad and a friend for the whole weekend. It was cold as heck out I do remember that---thank goodness we use to get to go into the Yamaha both.

I remember going to the I-500 events when they use to end in the twin cities. We would drive a semi with parts for a lot of sledders and be set up and ready to go..that was interesting to see.

One thing about ER derby is that back when I went, the place was packed. Both sides of the track, you could barely move. Attendance is no where near that nowadays.

    I was there in 1971, 1972, 1974, 1975, 1976, 77, 78.

My most memorable one was the year Ed Schubitzke won on a Yamaha SRX..he shattered the track record by 7 seconds that year (in qualifying)...he led the main event from start to finish.

I was too young to really remember the 71-72 races that mike trapp won.

Here are a few of my favorite sleds from way back when.

Are the handle bars "pre-cocked" to the right, or is it just me?

I think they are pre-cocked so they can stay in close when leaning off the sled

good question....I don't know the answer that is just my guess
