Looking for early fall color report

I have a cabin in Eagle Harbor and will be there during 1st week in October.
Anybody have an update or prediction in terms of fall color? I have seen full/peak in late September and then other yr's, only some color.

I would be interested in a report for the Mellen, Wi. area also. We will be heading up tomorrow (Friday). 3 years ago this weekend the leaves up there were at peak, I imagine that is not the case this year.

jr37, I was at Copper Falls 10 days ago, and though it was definately starting to change then, it was just the beginning obviously.

However, I was amazed how much it had changed from when we arrived to when we left. If you are going this weekend it should be pretty good with the cooler weather we've had.

jneirynck....just out of curiosity, is your cabin near where the monks are? Reason I ask is that you are new to this board and our old family camp was recently sold.

I was driving across northern Pennsylvania Sunday. I couldn't believe how their trees are changing already. Must have been 10-15% already. Wasn't that way in New York yet.
Just some of the Sugar Maples here in NE Wisconsin thus far.

I think you'll be close to the peak when you come. I live in Hancock, and we drove up to Copper Harbor on Wednesday. They're starting to change, but I would say we're only at about 15 or 20%.

nothing to much here in Ohio but the leaves have been dropping abit cause of the dry weather to protect themselves very spotty yellow color for now but more green then anything else anyone who lives in the UP your very lucky to have all the trees up there and to see the beauty of fall SUPURB!!!!!!

We spent the weekend at Copper Falls State Park by Mellen. I would guess the leaves there are about 50%, maybe a little more. It was a beautiful weekend. Nice scenery, good friends, cold beer. I love my life!
