out of storage and no start 09 xfire 6.

I fogged the engine, added stabile and topped off the tank and the end of the season.

These are now my specs symptoms and what i have tried...

2009 Xfire 6 with 1000 miles (warranty ends 12/8/2010)
replaced the spark plugs
drained all the gas
I have spark.
pulled the fuel line off the rail and fuel come out fine with a pull
put gas in the plug hole, a few pulls and it fires up for 3 seconds, then quits.

yes, key is on and kill switch is off...

I'm out of options on my own at this point in time. I have to figure out how to get this bugger loaded onto my enclosed trailer to bring it to the dealer 30 miles away in the morning unless anyone can enlighten me on what the heck i can try to start this $#$@#@$#@&@#*$.

turn the gas on? Or you may not have enough gas in the tank...

make sure mr and mrs mousy haven't filled exhaust system with acorns, make sure air cleaner box isn't full of mouse stuff as well, if you have spark, fuel and air it should go.

Fuel Spark and Compression. (3 things needed for engine to run) This sounds like a fuel problem. If you didn't have spark or compression you wouldn't be able to get to run for 3 seconds. Follow your fuel source, from tank to motor. Dry off spark plugs, blow out cylinders with air and try and start again. Then look at the plugs to see if they are still dry or wet and go from there. Process of elimination might take a little time, but you will find the problem. Follow what "dpd43" and "indy 500" said also.

I had the same problem after about 20 attemps I put a small amount of starter fluid in each cylinder and topped off gas tank. Three pulls fired up and ran like a champ.

There is no fuel shut off on this one as it's an EFI. One thing to check is in your throttle, could be ingnition monitor switch, check trottle return, (depress & release) if the cable is out of adjustment you won't be able to start it. Another issue, which I doubt, but could be a possiblity, is an air lock in the fuel line between tank & fuel rail. Check that by pulling the fuel line & drain off a bit. Hope you get it figured out.-Mezz

thanks for the replies guys. I was completely stumped. I tried most everything you guys said plus all the otherthings...i'm sore from pulling.

I dropped the sled off at the dealer early this morning. I wont get it back for a week and a half, but seeing it was still under warranty, I had to do it...

the only plus is i have 14 gallons of gas i can put into my car and truck from draining the tank

Did you try starting the sled before draining the gas? Those smart valves in the tank can cause fits with low gas levels.

FYI, the valves can be reopened by just giving them a whack. Just hook the fuel line out of the tank and whack the valves on the side of the gas tank. Pretty easy with the Crossfire fuel tank. Huge fill opening makes it easy to fish them out with a wire. They will feel solid if they are closed.
