Default Who is going to the Winternationals Hillclimb?

The biggest Snowmobile Hillclimb, east of the Rockies is the Winternationals at Whealkate Bluff, South Range, Michigan, Friday and Saturday, Jan 14th and 15th.

This year we will have a Sport Division for those that want to try a Snowmobile Hillclimb. The Sport Division Drivers will have one gate to go around. This will be on Friday.

Also on Friday is a Women's Division and Vintage Division. Women's and Vintage will also run on Friday, they will not have any gates to go around.

The Forcia Trucking Pro Mod and Matt's Auto Glass Pro Stock Divisions will run on Saturday.

Can anyone beat the "Wild Man" Wyler Miller for either one of the King of the Hill's.

Pro Stock, Pro Mod and 120 cc Divisions will run on Saturday.

Hope to see you at the Winternationals!

Yooperdoo...the date chosen is because that is the ONLY weekend that is in between the USSA, ORA, and other MASTERS events.

I didn't know that "Snowboard Competition" is more important to snowmobilers then a SNOWMOBILE Hillclimb...hmmm.

Glad to read the other comments. Thanks for planning on making it!

Just saying that we don't have 2 many event's in Houghton. Would be nice to be able enter both event's if they where on differant date's... And the comp has been on that weekend for longer then your event.....Just poor planing on your part.

oooo, yooper doo-doo, be nice now. You have to understand that events like this are scheduled around the other Hillclimb events. If they were to wait, the event may not see as many competitors able to participate. If you want to enter the climb, then enter, oh, I see, the snowboard comp is at the same time, well, do both, make it a snowathalon for yourself. If your in the climb or the Boarding comp, we'll get a bunch of the Dee family together to come watch you crash, in either or both events! BTW it's spelled different, & planning you've just been nashed! LOL!-Mezz

I guess skip should have consulted with you regarding your snowboard competition schedule before picking dates.

It's always tough to balance event schedules. It's hard enough to schedule around other snowmobile events, let alone completely different sports. It's unfortunate (but understandable) that the hillclimb also clashes with the Eagle River Derby.

    1. event (singular), events (plural), event's (possessive), events' (plural possessive)
    2. date (singular), dates (plural) date's (possessive), dates' (plural possessive)
    3. also, "
    then than your event".

    Apostrophes are
not used in plural forms! Just in abbreviations and possessive forms (my dog, their dogs, your dog's bone, your six kids' toys)!

[That's (abbreviation) the end of today's (possessive) lesson, said Nash, grinning and gnashing his teeth.

Yes, your efforts are working, but, I didn't want to (couldn't) pick it apart that badly, besides, I would not have remembered all of the possessive & plural possessives. Are you sure you're not my now retired English teacher? I almost got sick & was expecting to see a big Red Fhastily scratched across the page LOL! Flashbacks, holy crap! Now yooperdoo, you have really been Nashed! It is all in fun though. BTW yooperdoo, you don't have to be sorry for being involved in both sports, you should be sorry for calling Skip a poor planner, because that is by far not true, just pick the one you like the best & go for it, truth be told, I would like to see you on the Bluff.-Mezz

Being a supporter and fan of both events I agree that it would be nice if the events were not on the same day. I also know a lot of boarders that also ride that would like to see both events but planning any event is tough and picking a date always seems to be one of the hardest things to do. Maybe in the future things will work out better.

Actually the amount of effort put into the railjam in Houghton is pretty cool, it's done on a side street downtown Houghton so it has to be built and torn down in one weekend, everything is built locally by the guys that put it on and they have some nice prizes for the winners. With that being said there is also a lot of hard work put into the hill climb but Ezra, by the sounds of your description I think you have Wheelcate confused with Jackson Hole. There both really cool events for are area and it would be nice to have the option to take in both. They both bring people into the area and both take a lot of hard work to pull off.

Yooperdoo, try not to come out with the gunz a blazin' and critizing people right off the bat and I'm sure they wont be as harsh on you next time.

While I don't agree with the way they dress as well (lol), you must certainly admit what they do takes a good amount of skill and athleticism. That said, hillclimb events on sleds require those things as well. No need to disrespect the kids, kind of sounds like sour grapes if you ask me.
