    Default Intervention needed!!

So, here goes, I have been stressed out big time lately, so bad that I have considered selling the machines. I am sick and tired of hearing about, and seeing, all the idiotic morons that ride. Recently heard about a severly intoxicated rider that was riding in an area clearly not a trail and was "caught" He argued, got into a fight, etc. Also, tired of being associated with the idoits that can't follow the rules. Ride off the marked trails, in farmers fields, through peoples yards, racing side by side into oncoming sleds etc, etc. WHY must there be so many idiots??? I am trying to teach my son the proper ethics and ettiquite to ride safely. Difficult to do when grown adults can't do it. And, lastly, PLEASE DON'T DRINK AND RIDE!!! With the horsepower these things have, we don't need to add impaired judgement on top of it!

    Thanks

i like to ride from 4am till the trails get bumpy, usually around 1 or 2 in the afternoon then call it a day unless it's one of those 200 or 300 mile days then you leave early and get back late.

x3. We did our first trip Sunday-Wednesday 2 weeks ago and had the BEST.TRIP.EVER. Low traffic and smooth trails. I will never ride on Fridays or Saturdays again if I don't have to.

Most of us hear what you're saying, and yes it is very frustrating particularly when you are training young kids and worried about their reactions to the brain dead dummies that have a death wish...and are he!! bent on doing up brown while YOU are on the trail.

While I know that the first reaction to the sport is that many use the sledding weekend to race from bar to bar over and over again, you might want to use that knot on the top of your shoulders for more than filling a helmet and put it to use to make this a win win rather than a... give it up sport.

As others have stated, WHEN you get on the trails will certainly have an effect on the numbers of riders. But also WHERE you ride will be even more important.

Stay away from events that tend to become drinking and riding crowds.

Go to that far away place, and ride some of the back trails that are perhaps less traveled and less popular.

Go when traffic will be the lowest.

Turn these bad examples into demonstrations that your son/daughter can clearly see what is being done WRONG....take the time to stop and pickup that trash....point out the brainless behavior, and pointless indulgence in trespassing, so that your kids can know what the difference is and why they need to watch out for it.

Boating, atv'n, skiing, hiking....you can't get away from these idiots who give it a bad name. So what are you going to do...stay home and knit?

On the road, on the trails, on the water.....use common sense and stay safe....and yeah there is always a chance you will get tangled up with these twits....but the more you use your noodle...the better your odds are....and you won't have to stay home and rock in the rocker.

Got one in our group actually.... He wrecked me 3 years ago and gave me cracked ribs. Nice guy but insane. This year he went and got a rush, within the first three miles he went to hit a drift and the drift was hard. He didn't setup his suspension (he weighs 140 and the sled was set for 240 lol) and got bucked right off the thing. Handle bar into leg and by the end of the night could hardly walk..... I miss riding. I need snow!!

You can't fix stupid! There will always be those who go against the law. I know what you are saying though. That is one of the reasons we got out of 4 wheeling. People associated us with the Stupid actions of others that would go off trail, through cranberry marshes, and other stupid acts. After trying to correct idiots that were going off trail, and almost going to jail after taking out my frustration on a guy, we got out of 4 wheeling.

Exactly. When i was a big trail rider most days we were on the trails at dawn and loading them up at 2-2:30. you would be surprised that most of the retards don't even get rolling til 2-3 because they are hung over from the night before.

Yeah Im getting real sick of it too. Me and my gang hit the trail at about 3:00am ride till around 3 or 4 in the afternoon and call it quits. there are just to many drunken idiots out on the trail. its funny when you ride past a tavern an you see 2 similar IQ's sitting in the lot and come back 4 hours later on your way home an those same 2 sleds havent moved..

Same old thread, move to Florida and wish to ride. Dive season has started, the salt water is killing me. Just like sledding, retro the trailer, 2 rims 1 tire. Rusted so bad it leaks. Wish I could bxxxx about others on the trail.

These are the same idiots who go past 50 feet away from you full throttle pulling tubes on the lake when your fishing, cut you out off in traffic cause they missed their turn, show up with high powered rifle to deer hunt completely trashed, drive way too fast on icy roads in their 4x4 and roll over, drive off with the gas nozzle still in their vehicle(hence the need for quick disconnects), or put a 2 5/16 hitch on a 2 inch ball without safety chains. Dumb ****s are dumb ****s year round, and in every sport or recreational pastime. Once you get past the fact that they will ALWAYS be there, just work around it. Stupid people is what pays the bills in my household. HEHEHEHEHEHE

Its never going to change if it bothers you that bad sell the sleds! It may be bad but it comes with the sport of snowmobiling. Its gets worse every year as sleds get faster and handle better! Do what others have said and stay away from heavy traffic areas and it wont be as bad and ride early and middle of week

The few times that I have been able to ride during the week were awesome. I can't wait until I have the flexibility to do that on a regular basis. For now I just start earlier in the day and quit earlier in the day. I refuse to give up something I enjoy because of some idiots. I just try to get as creative as I can to find times when most of the idiots are not on the trails.
