Jobs are flowing throughout the Bismark area. If you have been out of work and want a job....this is probably the best area in the country to get one right now...in an area that is reasonable to live in, and has snowmobiling in winter.

Most of Wyoming has been this way for decades. I believe they are the only (or one of the only) state(s) in the union with a budget surplus. Tons of mineral exporting and low population will do that.
Much better riding in WY than ND if you ask me!

For the average guy out of work for awhile, and trying to find something which will stop the backsliding chances are considerably greater finding work in Northwest North Dakota, compared to Wyoming. Oil industry is just starting there in Eastern Wyoming which is a great distance from the famed sledding areas.
Still Wyoming does NOT have a state income tax, and if you could find work there, and not too distant from the mountains, that would be a dream come true for some of the guys who love to sled.
With the huge onset of drilling going on in N. Dakota, prospects for a job are as good as it gets in the USA, right now.

I have a lot of buddies out there right now. If you head that way, be sure to pull a camper because living space is limited and big bucks to get into anything decent!

No good sledding in Eastern Wyoming? Snowies?
When out in Laramie last month many locals commented on the need for quality labor at both the refinery at Cheyenne and support positions... There is work out there - in fact, whereever there is oil/natural gas there is work.
I have seen MANY help wanted signs over the past year on oil/natural gas fields:
Grand Junction, CO
Farmington, NM
Houston, TX
Tulsa, OK
Laramie/Cheyenne, WY
A guy with a good work ethic, a little flexibility in living location, and the ability to learn quickly can rack up some bucks quick in the energy industry. And it sure beats sitting home collecting unemployment...

not just oil jobs tons of tech jobs in ND.most people would not beleve all the tech corps located in ND.and if making 98k in say NYC only need to make 45k in ND for same standard of living.few big shots around my house own a oil corp in ND huge money guys I know 2 guys who are I call house boys full time home maintnance sceduling plowing mowing geting cars boats and skis sleds golf carts all toys running and maintaned docks in home fixing what ever.they are making good money with corp trucks{1 bud just got his bosses old 10 escalade] gas cards and bennys thrugh the drilling corp. kinda a executive perc for big shots and .I am working on geting me some of that gravy.

i will be there in 1 week, the builder i worked for in the past said if i want a good job a free house and brand new 2012 chevy 2500hd crew cab deisel ltz with a plow. its mine, so talked to the wife and she said go for it, i will work 3 weeks and come home for a week pd. I will project manage all the houses and subs as i did in the past, just quit my ****ty job and told them to shove up there *** for the low paying sweatshop job.

Lenny, i would use you in a heart beat, but we only have 4 foundations in and it wouldnt be enough to keep you busy, but in the spring we are gonna hit it hard and go balls to the walls and i will be able to keep all subs busy, we are just starting to set up shop in minot, so it will be a slow start, i will try an pick up some plowing accounts and some remodel work to get me thru the wicked winter.

cool, keep in mind I am skilled in many other aspects of const. Not blowin my own horn but can frame (not a leader but can fit right in on a crew), roof, side, sheetrock install, finish Sheetrock, tile, hardwood, trim, put kitchen and baths together. Shot me a line as things progress. I am looking at all options at this point!!!!

Lenny they need all purpose guys like you to build anything & everything for a long long long time. Winter temps are severe out there so not sure if they can continue building in winter. Would you move & leave the Yoop?

nope, I'd try an work out a thing where I work so many weeks and than come home for a certain time period.

Probably can get winters off until they get enough construction going that can carry all workers thru the winter. They need so much it will take awhile to get to that point now build, finish occupy & do it again. Being away from family is very tough on the wife raising kids alone. My road limit was 2 weeks.... Ok for me to be on road 4-5 days in for 2 & out for another 5 but 14+ straight was a no no. Of course now days you do what you have to do to get ahead.

lots of guys stacking hay around the campers now.
this boom could end as fast as it started.a administration getting serious about exploiting our own natural resources would make it less cost effective to be fracking
